We have all been there. You wake up one morning and realize your attitude sucks and you need to get a grip and change it before you find yourself in serious need of some help.

What have you done that has helped you get a new outlook & fresh prespective?

Vacation?
Time alone or maybe you need time with someone?
You need to switch jobs?
Read your favorite book, again?

Let me know,

I cant not begin to tell you the number of mornings I have woken like that. I fight it off mostly. But when it gets bad...and I can’t take a break from my life...I take a drive. It’s about 20 minutes from my house, but it is heaven to me. This little coastal town. With seaside houses and cottages. There is a small marina that sells odd & end, fresh fish ... and they have a deck to die for. It’s all simple really. But somewhere between the drive, sitting outside, and purchasing a few dozen oysters...I feel a bit better.

Lets see, last time that happened to me...
I took a vacation,
got a divorce,
moved out,
and got myself a cat.

Except for the cat part, I wouldn't reccomend it.

This past friday after I realized how much of a shitty mood I was in I went to play multiple hours of half-life.

Feels so good to vent frustrations in a good hot deathmatch.

Bitch and moan with friends. Write all the negative stuff down.
Why are you feeling the way you do?
What is happening in your life that makes you feel the way you do?
What can you change about your life and circumstances to improve your attitude?
Tear it up. Vent. Cry till all the negativity is gone. When you feel washed out and that you are 'empty'?
Fill up via friends and things you like doing to replenish your positive energy.
Do whatever makes you feel good again. :)

I went to bed feeling like I needed to adjust my attitude.
Stepping back from certain situations is what helps me sometimes. Advice from a close friend;)*Thank you JL*

But the best remedy for me is a little time alone. I keep a journal and quiet time alone writing in it helps. I love to take long drives with no particular destination. And any chance I get a drive to the coast...I have always felt drawn to the ocean and find peace there.

I agree, something about the water. I use to , years ago, live not far from Lake Erie. Wonderfully therapeutic to sit on the rocks and watch the water.

Hope you are feeling better, sweetie!!

I take a long quiet walk and try to focus on the good things that are happening in my life and what I have that others dont. Yeah.. I know it sounds like a paradox but it works for me...

I'm curently trying to change my attitude.

I'm trying to get out and do more, brake away from that barrior that has always been holdeing me back

I sit down and write in my journal. It helps to get the pissy feelings on paper and then they usually don't look as bad as they did in your mind.

Plus, you have to think about them and that helps some too, because usually it isn't as bad as you first thought.

I don't respond to my shitty moods right away. I wait and if they last then I look at what needs to change. I am very moody and I think the cause if often fatigue. A good nights sleep often cures the problem. If that doesn't work then attendence at an orgy is mandatory.

When something bad happens or Im in a crummy mood I try really hard to find something positive within the situation that I can learn from. I got that advice from a man who started his business in a basement and went on to be quite succesful,That was the way he looked at life and It has worked for me.But when that fails I click into Literotica!

Bring the ass and the mind will follow.

Start with the idea "I am ________" that is a positive statement about the attitude to which you aspire.

Change your behavior and align it with the "I am ______" statement you just made.

Little by little, you get there. I have read it takes from about 2 weeks to 8 weeks to change an attitude, therefore, there are scarce remedies.

Time alone provides us with the space we need to get in touch with ourselves so that we can discover, unfettered, how to complete the sentence, "I am _______." Talking with a close friend is wonderful, but I have to know where I want to go before I can start going there. Then I usually talk to a friend and start taking action.

Action, to me, is key.

Changing my attitude...

Whenever I wake up and don't have a positive outlook.

As simple as this may sound I go and take a long shower ... with my radio full blast... my Shakira cd usually makes me feel better. I can not help but sing out loud and that will usually put a smile on my face.... if that does not help I can always count on my friends. I will call them and they make me laugh & I feel better. :)

Now now...stop fibbing. It's Backdoor boys that makes you happy:p

What is it about water that soothes us so? I can see the river from my balcony, so when I am in a bad mood I put on some favorite music and just sit and watch it flow. It takes me outside of myself. Sometimes a freighter will go by flying a foreign flag, and it always lifts my spirits to think of where it is going.
