a lot of members now posting on the PB are long-term members who have often posted their writing, pics, discussions and more on a variety of topics. Much of this happened on the General Board. Why should long-standing members (20 years for some) go to another website when they've invested so much of their time here? But if y’all PBers were here for just the politics aren’t there other political sites?
For history aspect too, who the hell wanted politics on Lit? Sapiosexuals is my only thought.
The site owner, Laurel, was fond of political discussion and I believe there was a very quiet PB in existence. However, when it came to the GB being flooded by it she asked people what they wanted: the majority wanted all political posts to only be allowed on the separated Political Board. Personally, I was happy seeing all the variety of postings on the GB because that was its purpose: a place to post about things NOT catered for by the other forums on the site. Splitting the board into two has led to this situation today where a lot of the old regular GB posters have more or less quit the GB because it has turned into a sad pool of threads that would already be catered for on other forums here. The GB used to be a lively, witty, funny place to hang out. Now it's a bore-fest.
