how do I post images in the conversations tab of the forum

sorry if this the wrong forum for this but I have no clue where to ask. I noticed that in public threads I can attach images straight from my phone/PC but not in conversations? I know that there's no way to do that in the chatrooms (so I'm not asking about that, only about the conversations)

You can’t post images in the chat . You have to use sites like imbgg

is there a reason? I was talking to a guy in conversations and I told him to use the chat and he couldn't find it, so I wanted to send him a screenshot of it
