How do I get an AV?

Forgive my computer illiteracy, but how do I go about getting an AV?

I understand how to upload pictures, but I went to one site someone recommended on Lit. for potential AV's and I couldn't download a picture.
Do I need special software to take a picture off another site?
Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Ok, here's the scoop.

You have to have 100 posts to have an av here.

For most pictures on the net, right click on the pic you want and you will have the option to save as... and save on your hard drive or disk.

Well I'll be a monkey's uncle. Or at least his neighbor.

100 posts? For real? Well, I guess I'm gonna be a postin' machine.

Seriously, thanks for the info. The right-click thing is new to me. I used to have an imac that didn't have two mouse buttons. I am just learning to be ambi-mouseterous.

Hint: have three or four on your hard drive, waiting, so you can swap them in and out as your mood dictates. One gets tired of the same av after a bit of time.

Thanks for the hint, Cymbidia.

Nipple clamping teaser.

I bet that would hurt. I'm glad I'm not a woman.

Any specific sites that have cool pix?

pictures that have been sized down from larger pics -- especially pictures you've taken yourself.

Almost any picture can be used as an avatar, so there isn't really any "avatar site" to recommend. As you surf the web, be watching for pictures that will retain their character when cropped or resized to 150X150 pixels.

If you have access to a scanner, the covers of magazines and paperbacks can be a good source of pictures for an avatar. If you have a digital camera, a picture of yourself or (as is the case with my avatar) something you own is another good source for a unique avatar.

Sites that have "avatars" for download generally have avatars that are "generic" (for lack of a better term) that seldom xpress the "real" you. It's much better to "think outside the box" and find a picture that suits your (BB) personality and turn it into an avatar.

Thanks Wierd Harold.

Is 150 x 150 the best size to edit pics down to?

I just bought a digital camera and it makes even people like me look techno-savvy. I must have some odd thing around here that expresses my warped personality...oh, yeah...there's my evil knievel doll.

"Pain" is a matter of perspective, i think. What you think of as pain might be something entirely within the realm of pleasure to me - or the reverse.

Having had clothes pins on my nipples many times, i can say that the sensation is "worse", if one wants to use that term, immediately after they come off then while they're on.

That is bizarre that it hurts "worse" when they come off. I wonder why.

I am not criticizing anyone's choices of pleasure, by the way. To each his own, and to me, lot's of Scandanavian women.

Not bizarre at all, actually.

Think of it this way: when the pins go on, there is a more-or-less momentary increase in sensation (the word i prefer to "pain") and then the pressure of the pins in that sensitive place impedes the blood flow so that almost all sensation beyond "tightness" is lessened to an amazing degree.

When the pins are removed, blood goes rushing backinto the area, and not unlike the blood that rushes back into a foot that's gone "to sleep", hot and gaspingly wonderful pins and needles of sensation flow through the area.

Clearer?

150 pixels in the longest dimension is best. Not all pictures are square and if you force them into a 150x150 square format they get distorted.

The size requirement is usually harder to meet. Check your image processing program's setting for the compression factor on JPeG files -- you want it set for enough compression to fit that 20Kb limit without too much loss of quality.

Congrats you made it!!

Whew it feels good after working on it for so long, hmmm? ;)

I wonder...

Wonder what I will use on mine...sigh...when I get there...so lazy...

Well at least you lost your virginity;) .....when you get enough experience, pick a sexy one.....men have much better av's to pick from.

Schutzen...

Hit my 100 today without even realizing it at first. Went back into a post to edit and saw it on the side there. It didn't take very long, maybe two weeks or less.

That's funny, I was thinking just the oposite. I can't find any male picture to convey the sexy, provocative statement I would like to make.

Where have you been looking? I did a search and found lots of them.

What kind are you looking for?

Is It Working?

FWIW, your avatar changes on all of your old posts whenever you change it. It's not necessary to make a new post to test it.

(Yess, it's working and is very nice. :p

Changing AV

When you change the Avatar, it seems like it changes your avatar on all your posts not just posts made after the change. Is this correct?
