How do I follow an author?

I subscribed to one author when I first signed up. Then went away for months and forgot how.

Now I've found another who I'd like to follow, but I don't remember how.

If you've read a story you liked, at the bottom you can rate it 1-5 stars, favorite it, as well as favorite the author. Then whenever that author publishes a new story, you'll be notified.

Addendum: I have just found out. At least in once sake, with the author page pulled up, I found a small "Follow" button in the middle of the visually themed banner above the profile proper.
