how do I ask the third?

My girlfriend and I have been exploring our fantasies, some tamer then others, but we both agree that we would like to add a third, even if just once. We have managed to agree on someone that we both find attractive, and that we would both be willing to have in bed with us.

My question is how do we approach the potential third party? We're not sure whether they are into that sort of thing, but we know that they are adventurous both in and out of the bedroom so we figured that they were a likely choice, but just in case how do we broach the subject so as to cause the minimum of embarassment, on both sides, if they aren't interested?

Well, even though I'm not likely to ever be in the position to add another person to make a threesome , I have often wondered how exactly does one broach this subject.

After (not a lot of) thinking I would work towards getting this person you and your g/f have in mind into a social setting, add some alcohol and steer the conversation towards this idea.

Now, the alcohol comes in handy as the fall guy , should your potential threesome partner be unreceptive to your idea, you can save face later by blaming the booze.

"OMG, did we REALLY say that? "

disclaimer: I warned you I haven't spent much time thinking out this answer.

What if the third party is married...Well on paper?

Once again it totally depends on the people involved... some would be fine with it... as long as the third is planning a divorce and is seperated I don't see a problem... I wouldn't recommend risking a working marriage though.

What if the person doesn't want to work on the marriage? Opting for the thrills of getting their SO into this "Open Marriage mentality"?
