How Deplorables took over a school board in Colorado

Voters elected the board. If they are unhappy with the board’s performance they can vote them out and pay more attention to candidates they vote for in the future.

The insincerity in this post...

You couldn't sell water to a man dying of thirst in the desert. 🤣

In Colorado, conservatives started making gains earlier because school board elections are held in off years.

Abysmal turnout no surprise.

But here, someone double check me on this.

https://www.census.gov/quickfacts/tellercountycolorado

As of 2021, they had 24,857 population for the county, but somehow have 21,557 (19,175 active) registered voters. Thing is, their under 18s are 16.5% of the population. Accounting for 4101 of that 24k population. That would put that at just 20,756 eligible voters.

Even assuming every single eligible voter is registered, which is an insane and non-fact based assumption, we still somehow have more registered voters than eligible voters.

Unless I'm missing something.

Never vote for ANY Republican for anything ever.
That's what we did here in Houston. We voted every God Damned Republican official out of office....even the one "good" Republican who I admired.

A right wing centimillionaire sponsored an attractive Latina (who happened to hate Hispanics) to run for county commissioner. He spent millions on advertising her, She lost.

What did that get Houston and Harris County?

Governor Greg Abbott and his cronies in the Texas legislature just passed legislation that allowed for the Governor to remove the county administrator that he sees fit to remove, but only in counties with a population of 2.3 million or higher,

Houston/Harris county is the only county that meets that definition.

It's a political power flex, plain and simple.

And Houston is also home of the most gerrymandered Congress seat in the nation: Dan "Popeye" Crenshaw has a snaking district that connects the monied gated communities downtown with inbred cousin fuckers just north of Houston. Parts of his district are 60 yards wide.
