After a tough year of embarrassing scandals, Rep. Lauren Boebert’s jump to a new district may pay off Tuesday.

Six months after the bombastic two-term Colorado Republican announced she would move her political fortunes from the state’s Western Slope to its Eastern plains and suburbs, Boebert has eclipsed her Republican primary rivals in fundraising and was 35 points ahead of the nearest one in a recent poll.

“The math just isn’t there for anybody to beat her,” Colorado GOP political consultant Dick Wadhams said as the primary approached.


Coloradans, who primarily vote by mail, have been casting their ballots for weeks. If Boebert is successful in securing the nomination Tuesday, she will be comfortably positioned for the general election in a district with a 13-point Republican advantage, according to the Cook Political Report.


Boebert, who first became known on the political stage for her vocal support of gun rights, has gained national recognition over the years for such attention-grabbing antics such as tweeting “Today is 1776” on the day of the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack and booing President Biden during the State of the Union. Friday, she received the endorsement of former President Donald Trump, who called her a “trusted America First Fighter.”

While it would be nice for her and MTG to be gone incumbants winning is pretty basic shit. I haven't followed her race particularly closely because its either going to happen or its not. I'm not in a position to donate my money or time to that race. What little impact I have on social media which is not large enough to be a thing. Like if you combined everybody who reads me across every forum or social media site that I'm aware of and they all marched like loyal zombies. . .well I might be able to able to get somenoe on the student council in Gnome Alaska but that's pushing it.

Huh, from what I heard from interviews the Republicans in that district did not like her for moving to that district just to run for that seat. I believe the term used was "Carpetbagger". Also they thought her antics and statements and scandals were a distraction from someone only seeking attention rather than working in Congress to deliver for their district. In fact in a straw poll after the primary's first debate she was fourth out of six candidates I believe far behind a Colorado State senator that was in the lead.

If she's been able to turn that disadvantage around it will be big political news on the level of AOC beating Crowley for her district in NY back in 2018.
