How come sometimes when you edit posts it says you did, and sometimes it doesn't?

Sometimes it's too fast for the naked eye and sometimes it isn't...

I hate it when my new post or my edited post...

doesn't seem to go anywhere at all.

It says thanks for processing/editing and the little line appears which is meant to move to the left then...

It stops halfway...

Is it stuck? Is it slow? Shall I wait? Shall I go?

When that happens I pray it will clear itself, especially after writing a looonng piece about something...

You have something like 90 seconds to fix anything in your post without it registering that you did. Obviously, that's just the system assuming you're just going back to fix a spelling mistake or something.

After that, it notes the edit, so you can't come along and say that it's an original post.
