PM's be read by site moderators?

At another board, a VBulletin, 2.2.2 Version, a moderator reads PMs. (100% certainty) I have always read that this cannot be done.

This goes beyond her coming across a password by hearsay or otherwise. I've changed my password numerous times, and never told anyone. She has to be doing it some other way, any thoughts?

probably depends on the site. I'd say it can be done, but I don't think that everyone does it.

If code can be written, code can be hacked. I would not be surprised to find there was a site dedicated to vbulletin hack utilities.

So much of our security depends on the moral code of the individuals who run the operation, and even then it would be hard to stop a detemined person.

I think if Laurel or Manu wanted to, they could, but wouldnt..... People have begged them to Look at ISPs to see who certain trolls were and shoe woulendt for privacy reasons.


Forum Moderators only have control of their forums, they cant do anything to anything else except their own forum. So I wouldnt worry about them.

I'm not worried about it, it has already happened. I'm very interested in how she did it. I thought only an administrator could do it, and that it isn't a very easy thing to do.
