..legally copyright my work?? i see a lot of stories on here that are copyrighted and i just wanna know how do u that??

im thinkin about postin my story on here but dont want it stolen....althought its not that gd so prob dont ave to worry lol...wat am i sayin..its gr8, amazing, the best novel ever written ha ha

All you need to do is "claim" the copyright. You can also pay a fee to the goverment for a "registered copyright" or you can take some other step to protect your copyright, but the copyright exists from the instant you create the work, like getting a copy of the work notarized or mail a copy to yourself and leave it unopened.

The copyright notice you see on most of the stories here is just a notification that the author intends to defend the copyright that is inherent in the creationof the work.

When you write something, it is automatically copywritted. People don't understand that. As long as you can prove you wrote it first. An easy way and an old fashion way people copywrite is by mailing your work to yourself. The stamp the post office puts on it insures a date and as long as you don't open it, you are fine and have legit proof you wrote something first.
