Houston, Tx Rollcall

Hey, T! I guess I misread Someplace's post! And I assure you, I am Not your wife! Not even My "ex" has nekkid pix of me, else she would already have disseminated them in her unending plot to ruin my life...

It's good to see people get along so well, keep it up.

And how many people n this thread are actually Texan by birth? Not me, I'm a "Yankee" in some circles.

Texan, darlin', you can share my Texas-ness if you'd like. I'm a 6th generation Texan (my daughters are 7th) so I've enough to share and still have some left over!

Now I don't know why all y'all are so confused about what I said. I said (in silver by the way) that I was not going to ask the NEWBIE person for necked pics -- I would leave that up to some of you other pervs. How THAT got so twisted around that we've now dragged Texan's wife in this, I'll never know! It's worse than a game of "telephone."

I hope everyone's had a nice evening. Seems pretty quiet though -- I think I'll go read a while. Niters all! :D

Raises hand. *Me, Me!* Like Someplace, my family has been here for generations. I do my best not to sound like I've just gotten out of the fields from pickin' crops though!

Days like the past few make me want to never leave my beautiful state! I also *hate* cold weather! I'd never make it up north.

Cherry! Just wait until everyone starts complaining about their blizzards and bitter winds. *Grin* Its fun to tell him we're having 70s and bright sunshine. Guess it's just about time to break out the "winter shorts"....

I'm just an honorary Texan.

*hugs* for Someplace...who definately does rank!

Between this and the attic storage conversation, I'm sure we are twins seperated at birth! I've actually come home to change shirts cause I was hot in my sweatshirt!

Woo hoo... It's Friday! :)

Happy Saturday!

*waves hello* to everyone!

Checking my list:

--waiting for Texan to respond about setting up something at Jillians -- say in a couple of weeks?

--pulling the Luau thread out of the vault by special request. All y'all who want to have some silly fun, show up at the Luau in The Playground Sunday night 8:00 central time. I have to come up with something to top the infamous flamingo races. Please PM any suggestions to me! *grin*

--looks like we're going to have a gathering in San Antonio 11/8. Watch for a thread on it, but pencil it in -- all y'all that don't mind a little drive on I-10.

Good morning fellow Texans....its looks like a beautiful day up here in my neck of the woods. Hope everyone has a very nice weekend. Be safe.

So tell us about this Turtle Club.....

That must be the "Turtle Club" on Clear Lake. When I lived in Seabrook, I had some fun times there. I've even seen a few drunk NASA engineers fall in the water from that club.

Someplace, I saw your message about scheduling an informal get-together at Jillians. My schedule is weird right now. I've been "off-the-road" for too long. Next Saturday, I have to go to Switzerland for a long week. Then after a few days at home, I have to go to Waco for a week. Anyway, I've started going to this little honkey-tonk near my house. I spent a few hours and dollars in there on Friday night and again last night.

My son has been living there all summer. Right now I think he's staying with friends in Vienna for a few weeks, but then he'll be back in Zurich. I bet it's beautiful!

I have a series of meetings in Lucern next week. I'm staying in a very nice hotel right on the lake, so I'm sure it will be beautiful. I'll be flying into Zurich and taking a train to Lucern. I'm not a big fan of Zurich. It's just another big european city, but almost everywhere else in Switzerland is beautiful. One of the best things about Lucern is that after I've spent a week eating dried meat, cheese, sausage and silver dollar sized pieces of beef covered in some kind of sauce, there's a McDonalds right across the street from the lake. :D

I could live on the cheese alone! If you can find the Leerdhammer (spelling is close if not correct), try it. Super sharp Swiss cheese. *ah... love it.*

I'd have to be gone longer than a week to really dig into Mickey D's food by choice over your offerings!

Have a safe & happy trip!

Leerdammer is a brand of cheese. It's made in italy, in the Alps, but right on the border with Switzerland. Leerdammer is known for its, so called "light and healthy" cheeses. Kinda like "Alpine Lace" here in the states.

I like swiss cheese of almost any kind. But the Swiss take cheese to extremes. The big fancy group dinner that's planned for next week involves a "fondu" dinner cruise on Lake Lucern. Too much of a good thing, if you ask me.

Wanna switch places? I'll go to work for you if you will reciprocate! Fondue is one of my all time favs! I'll even bring back pictures for you.
