maybe they are photoshopped kinda like those larvae breasts?stirbird said:That's true! In fact, they are shaped sort of like breasts I've seen on Real Dolls. But I like how perfectly white and unblemished they are (of course, that is usually faked these days, too).

stirbird said:LOL! Maybe so... but in a subtle way, so you aren't grossed out by the worm holes.
I would really, really hate to see a movie of those larva crawling around and digging their little holes. Bleah!
Speaking of which, that Oscuridad is working too hard and not coming back to this thread to bug you enough. I'll see if I can call him out of hiding:
"Larva, Larva, Larva... in the MILKY white breasts!"
There, like rubbing Aladdin's Lamp or saying "Open Sesame!," that should call him out of hiding.![]()

One last picture for the night. Title of it was "shinoyama kishin 1969 constructible cloth."

as for the Larvae movie- can we call it "Larvaes Attack, Japanese Style???"
can we????? can we?????
*laughs*stirbird said:Ok... but absolutely NO godzillas get to be in it. Although some J-rock cuties like The Gazette can come and save the day on the ecologically challenged Mount Tatas.![]()

It took some digging, but she got there in the end.Arc da Rat said:Do you know why he responded to the Larva comment ... It has to do w/ his Avatar & certain anime that the character is from ...
You have suffered, yes. But you have also learned, and in the process - built character.stirbird said:Yeah, I figured that out after he wouldn't tell me in the Anime thread what his avatar (the white winking face) was doing on a certain girl's back. It took me a hellishly long time, as one measures net searches, due to how ignorant I am of anime. It's kind of interesting how I got it: none of my conventional, rational attempts to search out the meaning of that strange avatar turned up anything. I tried combos like "anime cage" and "anime series" (O-dad had given me one clue: that it was from a series). No luckski.
Neither did randomly scanning hundreds of video covers from several commerical anime sellers online for something that resembled that picture I'd posted: the image of what looked like a girl in an organic cage with that ghostly winking avatar face on her back. That was sheer bad luck I guess, or maybe that particular anime cover is too old to turn up in normal "popular" video results. There are, as I later learned, several versions of art for these covers.
'De Rat, this was tough! I am the sort of person whose familiarity with anime is such that she goes into a Blockbuster's, as I did several weeks ago, and checks out a movie called "Von Helsing," thinking that I'll get to see that silly-looking vampire with the wide grin you introduced me to, not realizing that the little word "Von" in the title meant I'd end up with completely different (and to my tastes, totally lame) Western cartoon. :/ I had my bottle of dark beer, my freshly popped corn, and all the other ritualistic pre-movie-watching items ready to go that night. Can you imagine the intense disappointment of this clueless wonder that is yours truly?![]()
So anyway, in terms of this search I was doing, I settled in for a long haul and did one of the standard things a good troubleshooter does when all else fails: gave it a rest so that the parts of my brain that are brighter than the dull, plodding conscious part I associate myself with could go to work on the problem.
What finally gave me a clue was something I saw about a week later when I was going through my gothic-style images for posting in another thread I like, Holy Devil's "Back to Black." It was a murky red picture that had been sitting on my hard drive for a while and I had always liked. It was a spooky rendering of an archetype that appeals strongly to me: death or the reaper, although someone else had mistakenly titled it, "VampirePic206":

The part of me that is far smarter than me gave me a hard nudge in the ribs and I thought, "Hey, that kind of looks like O-dad's "winky guy!" Excitedly, I rushed as fast as I could over to Google Image Search and started typing in terms that the image made me think of: "ghost anime" "cape anime" "moon anime," "etc. anime"... I hit paydirt with "mask anime." Up popped images of that girl with Oscuridad on her back! In a matter of seconds I had the title to the series.
Now, since I've gone to all this trouble and tribulation just to find out the name of a cartoon video series, I am going to have to watch the darn things--as soon as I am solvent enough to afford them.
My initial usage of "larva" in this thread, by the way, was an unintentional misspelling and I was as shocked to see him pop in here as was Lady R., but being the practical troubleshooting sort, I figured that, like badly coded sw, if it worked unexpectedly once, it might very well work again!
I guess we shall see.![]()
