Cars have gotten smaller, but trucks have gotten bigger. Compare a full size car from the 1960s or 1970s- that Lincoln above, for example, with a full size car of the 2000's. What is full size for a car today would have been mid-sized back then. In fact, part of the reason trucks and SUV's have gotten so big is that people want large vehicles, but they don't make cars that big anymore so the only choice to haul the family and kids on a road trip is your basic Suburban, Escalade, Ford Expedition, or Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Though I believe you European people still prefer to drive small Fiat Mouse-sized cars, which to be fair, work better on those older, smaller/narrower roads.
Not only that, but the hoods on trucks are HIGHER than ever before, creating a large blind spot in the front of the truck.

Le Mans......what a race! The 50's and 60's saw such spirited, passionate racing with racing cars that actually LOOK like cars, unlike today's prototypes. I've been to LM Classic twice and would like to go again before I'm too old and senile to realize what is going on!
