I think that is a 1969 Chrysler Imperial LeBaron. My dad got one as a hand-me-down from his Dad who had ordered it new from the factory with a 426 Hemi under the hood.

It was triple avocado in color. When someone talked Dad into getting his Real Estate license, he took it to Earl Schieb and for a couple hundred dollars had the hole thing including the soft top painted bright white because he read that Realtors in white cars are trusted more.

It was hideous. He was quite successful in it. The right mix of "this guy is at least trying" and "He has GOT to be honest to be this broke."

There is 18" between the cosmetic grill and the actual radiator under that hood.

Back then there were no facsimile machines and if you had one it wouldn't be a binding contract without actual ink on actual paper, hand-signed.

He had a client in Tucson and was up against a deadline and needed to make the 150 mile trek to get a signature. He opened up that Hemi with a glorious, throaty roar with the explanation that it is good to blow the carbon out of an engine from time to time. The engine was rated at 425HP for insurance but later measurements suggest it was closer to 550HP.

Dad was a closet motorhead.
