Hot Wheels

What's that Winnemucca one? (the blue one with the fins.) Is that an amphibious car?
The red one two pics down is interesting too; it looks like a Lamborghini but I can't place the exact model; it isn't a Diablo.

It is amphibious. A German curiosity called Amphicar circa 1960. The red car is a Cizeta circa 1990. Giorgio Moroder financed it I seem to recall.
So many different cars, so little money!!

I drove one of these last week. It cornered like it was glued to the road and growled like my husband during that final moment of passion. So much fun to drive but oh my god it was hard to get in and out without dislocating my hips. :)
I've yet to even see one. My godmother has an '83 and an '87 Supra. I drove the '87 once. HOT DAMN.

My best friend has one in Yellow - the one I drove. It is gorgeous looking and beautifully finished. I'm sure the young guys would look twice at the lights when we pull up alongside and smoke them from the lights!

That's a model 2002 BMW from the early 1970s. I knew a couple people in high school who drove one of these. They were (for the time anyway) pretty decent handling cars.

Yes. They looked great, they sounded great, and they drove great. Unfortunately, they also oxidized great. You can still find California cars that are not badly rusted, but any GTV worth owning is a minimum of $40k, and a car with that low a price tag would likely need work.
