My only experience with hostels was quite innocent, but still provided a ripe setting for some good saucy sex romps. I'm an American, and a childhood friend of mine had moved to Sweden and fallen in love with (well, knocked up which is close enough) a lovely Swedish lass, and they planned to get married. He invited me to be his best man at the wedding. He set me up with a "room" at a hostel which turned out to be a decommissioned sailing ship moored at the Stockholm harbor. Same with me, essentially. I went on a three-week roundtrip in Europe with a couple of friends the summer before I turned eighteen, and to save money we usually slept in hostels, some with bunk beds and four to a room. Many times the three of us got grouped with total strangers, and some times split up.

Shame I was such a complete geek with no sense of adventure, there were more than enough opportunities. We actually also slept in moored boats, only in Amsterdam. Four beds to a room, and I could just about stand upright. When I stood in the middle of the cabin I could touch both walls. Talk about hot and humid...

Sadly nothing ever happened, though I think I can imagine a couple of saucy stories the could/should have happened. I’ll play around with it a little and see, maybe I’ll use it as a break from my main arc, first chapter submitted for moderation last night actually.

I've previously suggested telling smutty tales from the POVs of a lodging's beds, mirrors, etc. I suppose the Voyeur category could be appropriate, with tags indicating groups, queers, fetishes, etc. As for hostel locations, consider old Guatemalan convents, Sicilian castles, and California lighthouses. I've been to those.

How about something along the lines of the Hostel horror film series, except with sex slavery rather than torture and death. I was in a dorm once, all girl, it was a cold night and a lot of us doubled up mostly for warmth. However me an the girl I was into at the time did get it on together as others slept or were enjoying each other’s company. I travelled extensively around Europe and Asia in the 80s - lots of amazing experiences in hostels and cheap hotels catering to backpacker/world traveler types.

There were different kinds of travelers - the backpackers who were cheap as fuck, living off of others; Aussies and others who travelled for several years going from different kind of temp work often - summer camps, grape picking, kibbutz, etc.; stupid Americans on short, Eurorail tours of 100 different cities in two weeks; naive Japanese discovering the world; Israelis who just finished their military service and getting stoned everywhere; hippy types just seeking new experiences; and many others.

The hook ups were easy, the sex often a private moment, or not even that private, here and there. Most had shared bathrooms/showers - lots went on in there!

Lots of potential for some great stories though with so many young people from all parts of the world.
