hopefully this willl work

While I stand by my statement of Star Wars has yet to cause a real war. While it might influence some behavior not on the level of what I would need to be impressed.

With that said I have to admit you make a really really good point against which I have little defense. I often forget the power of stupid people in large numbers. Just because I don't let Anne Rice convince me there are real vamps, or Jurrasic PArk that we have created dinos. But I forget that there are people who are that gullible. Point taken.

And go ahead and be bold. I do it, I don't care how many people I piss off cus if I pissed you off it means that I had your full attention. Which means that I did what I wanted as an author, to affect your emotions and make you care. If you're mad your mad, if your happy your happy. I would prefer you be happy but if not. ::Shrugs::

To write a "Voodoo" story about sex with Zombies, for example, does nothing but maintain a stereotype. And wasting the power of fiction to do that is what really offends me.

I don't get around much, but I've never seen a story about sex with zombies, and it seems to me that while to write one an author would have to have some 'stereotypical' contextual support, the theme you mention would actually put a whole new spin on zombies, if not on vodun per se. Besides, creating zombies is an actual aspect of vodun- at least the belief in it- so it's not about maintaining a stereotype, it's a matter of utilizing an existing cultural context for a story. The particulars of the treatment might or might not be racist or otherwise offensive, but the theme itself isn't inherently racist.

Your most interesting statement, however, is the last- about 'wasting the power of fiction'. The concept boggles me, frankly. I'm curious as to what sort of fiction does not, in your estimation, constitute a waste of the power of fiction. You seem to be coming perilously close to taking offense at other people's tastes. Do so while you can, because when I become Emperor of America, that privelege will be reserved entirely to Us.

A sex story with Zombies would just be a gang rape story. Possiblye with a snuff at the end if you use Dawn of the Dead zombies. If I recall though "real" Vodoo zombies are not undead but rather just entranced.

And LaVey didn't even believe in Satan himself. I suppose he still counts as a religion though if you count Scientology as a religion.

And C'mon Purple. Lay off. You are perfectly allowed to hate everybody elses tastes. And I do believe that everybody should come to the same conclusions as I do. If I didn't that would make me wrong, and thus you right. I think you have some kind of special disease if you think you are wrong and don't change your behavior accordingly. I personally feel that the power of fiction is being over estimated here. I mean it almost sounds like its being said that because of Terminator and The Matrix that we will never make better computers for fear that they will take over the world and use us for batteries. I don't deny that I have picked up manerisms from fictional charachters. Spike of Buffy and Vegeta of Dragonball to name two obvious ones. Anything that is imitatable becomes a role model.

'Real' zombies are apparently brain damaged and culturally buffaloed, but of course, there may be more to it than that. Your idea of what a zombie sex story would be is simply that- your idea. Once in a while somebody comes along with a different idea- say, Anne Rice with vampires- that changes the way a genre is percieved. While I don't profess to have any brilliant ideas for zombie erotica, I'm not ruling out the possibility that some greater mind than mine might.

Anton LaVey does not indeed believe in Satan, but that doesn't make Satanism a non-religion. Many Taoists don't have a belief in any deity whatsoever, but Taoism is still a religion.

Yes, you are allowed to hate other people's tastes. Now. I'm not Emperor yet. However, to take offense at something implies an offense being committed against you- implying obligations on the part of the offender. Quite a different thing than merely hating.

Context and the Power

While each and everyone of you have a solid defense to stand upon in each and every conviction that you make against or for the IDEA of Wiccans Vampires and werewolves in a sex ritual story, It is only a working fiction idea. This was not intended to give platform to a religious debate. If this idea is so questionable and has such power or rather has as she said the power of fiction then Literotica itself it only adhereing to some invisible code promoting thier stories of sex in all catagories as reasons for people to use as models for other behavior. Especially the celebrity sex catagory. If one wanted to talk of the power of fiction, no matter what diclaimer one may attach to their story, the person reading the story could ascertain that indeed the act is real and that the person writing of the encounter has had sex with or performed sexual acts on that particular celebrity . The possibilities are endless. However, if there are some weak minded individuals out there that choose to believe in the realm of fantasy and fiction as true reality then they my dear friends are the audience that we must entertain. The ability to choose between fact and fiction is one of our own. I cannot make someone understand that this is a stereotype and you must adhere to the truths printed on this page that I have written because thats the way it is supposed to be. FREE WILL each of us have it and each of us choose to use it in our own ways regardless, The consiquences however must be reaped by ourselves alone. In short, if you choose to read a story then you choose to decide whats real and how it will influence your life. I appreciate the feedback, brooding over what or what not is real not real fact fiction or to whom I have to answer if i step on someones toes is a choice I make on a daily basis. Sex itself is bold. We choose to talk about it on this site because we may be bold. Writing is a way that each of us express things about ourselves be it fact or fiction that we feel are comfortable. if it was the intention to offend we all had by being here then we would all be zealots and no one would read anything we wrote.
