Seriously, I met my spouse on the General board, and we are about to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. We were both pretty candid and found that we agreed on almost everything. Then we started PMing. We don't quarrel, because we agree on almost everything...we think alike. Doubt you'll get that lucky, but I suggest that you pursue your interests, be genuine (but limited), and keep your eyes open. I don't think it's the website so much as your approach to it.

Well I haven’t been in a dating websites in 12 years and back then there wasn’t apps like there are today. So first I suggest looking into the apps. I heard about them but no longer needed that.
When I was hooking up with woman left and right my two sites that worked really well for me were:

Thank for your reply. Tried AFF. I got quite a few hits, but some of them were from other countries. Others were too far away. You would think living in a smaller city would have more noteworthy profiles. The larger cities have too many different avenues to meet / hookup. Have not tried POF, but I'll give it a look.
