Hey everyone,

I'm starting a new blog dedicated to reviewing the published works of writers. If you're interesting in getting a little bit of free marketing and advertisement (and maybe some constructive criticism/reviews), contact me* on the board and we can go from there.
(email removed thanks to helpful responses =D)

I'll be updating on weekends (gives me time to do a quality review as opposed to rushing it). I'd even be interested in doing an interview live over Skype if your work is good and you're interested in talking about it.

Anyways, contact me if you're interested.

Sorry, but why?

Literotica has a massive audience who have the opportunity to vote and comment on the stories. There are very few sites that can match the traffic here.

Why would we ask the opinion of someone we don't know? If you want to comment and review stories posted on Literotica, honest comment would be welcome to most of us - by Public Comment or Feedback through the Literotica systems.

Unless you are a professional critic, whose words mean something in the world at large, why should anybody be particularly interested. There are tens of thousands of stories on this site, and nobody could possibly read and critique them all.

Like almost everybody else who writes stories here, I like to know what readers think of them, so I have public comments enabled and encourage readers to email me or leave comments.

What Ogg says is true -- what are your qualifications? Why would people read your website in the first place (by which I mean, what is it for/about)?

Also, you should remove your email address. Such info is not supposed to be in posts and will likely be removed anyway.

Interesting reactions so far.

There are a few problems with the current scoring, comment, and review system of Literotica.

1) Readers and writers gaming the numbers is a common problem. Anonymity is an issue.
2) Anonymous feedback usually lacks a certain in-depthness (though I fully admit that some readers are nice enough to post amazing advice occasionally) that would help the author. Most of it can be summarized as "great work! loved it!" or "this story sux, awful".
3) My reviews are going to be recommendations for quality work that I genuinely respect. Nothing less, nothing more.

As to why?
Because there are quite a few self-publishers out there and a little distinction goes a long way. Also, having a glowing recommendation you can use as part of your book description may or may not count for something with potential buyers.

I'm not forcing anyone to do anything, though. If you need a hand, ask for it. If you don't, move along - these aren't the droids you're looking for.

I'd like to help other writers who are, in my completely subjective opinion, good. You have to start somewhere, right?

Lastly, professional = $$$.
Same results, none of the cost, I say.
^o^

To have truly honest and independent reviews, you should not take requests. You should just track down the stories/books (you seem confused on whether you are reviewing Lit. stories or published books) you want to review, do your review, and post it here (for Lit. stories) or on Amazon/B&N/Goodreads (for published works) as well as your blog. You're right, though, that we can't get enough good reviewers.
