Just a quick note to say that we're still alive and doing well. :)

The big move was a success with plenty of aches, pains and hassles, but we made it relatively unscathed. We closed on the house last Wednesday, moved in Thursday and Friday, and have been unpacking and remodeling every spare second since then. Broadband was installed today, so you should be seeing more of us in the very near future. (Whether you like it or not!)
;)

Much love from ~l & v~ in the Love Shack

That's great news! Glad that y'all found a new home to share and start your life anew in. :kiss:es to both of you.

So glad to have you back, Lucky and Vella.
Big wet sloppy kisses all around!

Wonderful news!

So....when's the house-warming party? ;)

MOVE is a four-letter word.

So is PACK.

Glad you endured and made it back to Lit-land.

thank you all for making us feel welcomed back. its been awesome to get into the new house...aka the LOVE SHACK.
we are trying desperately to be rid of the hideous wall paper the previous owners installed...
please dont let me go postal because they actually used DOUBLE SIDED TAPE to do some of it.
we are considering a wall paper taking down/house warming party. so, if you plan on attending, bring your bestest removal idears.

Cauterize with flash rubbing alcohol fire. If the wallpaper doesn't come off, it'll have this really eclectic-looking charred appearance that everyone will be trying to emulate. ;) This technique works wonderfully on stubborn bathtub mold/mildew as well.

Just think of all the money you'll save by not having to rent one of those steaming machines.

You know those steamer thingys that the big retail stores have to get the creases out of the clothes on the mannequins? *nods*

Beg, borrow, or steal one, love.....that paper will just peel off that wall. :D

thanks cloudster, not sure what we'll do but its not a typical situation cuz the previous owners were hell bent on putting up this paper with ANYTHING sticky! why didn't they call me before this? ah well, itll work out, im sure.

carson, you hunk o hunk o burnin lurve. right back at ya! missed you, gorgeous.

There's a product, and I can't quite remember the name and I'll have to ask the mrs., but it's something like "Gunk Remover" and it's great for getting rid of adhesive left behind.

For loosening the stuff prior to removal (especially if it's on drywall and you don't want to rip up the paper), see if you can find Carbona. I'm not sure if it's still on the market. I think it was carbon tet. Good for disolving adhesives.

If all else fails, check out what is available at the depot or lowe's.

Okay first off, Welcome back you sexy beotch! Glad the family is all tucked in and ready to go!

Secondly, get one of those scoring tools they have at the paper store, its a flat disc with scoring tools under it that roll around as you move it over the surface of the wall. Next , get really cheep fabric softener, the liquid kind. Soak the wall with it and let it sit a few minutes. This techinque works better than wall paper remover believe it or not. If you have stubborn spots, rent a steamer.

You both know if I were closer Id be up to my pits in wallpaper by now!
 TO you both!
