The continuing debate on gun control in connection with the Connecticut school massacre last Friday. Just don't bother going there.

Life is okay but I'm trying to figure out why I can't write good one-shots...

Chaptered stories are no problem for me, but the last time I tried to write a one-shot I'm quite certain I failed at it. It is called "The Date" and it is available at the archive I run. Help would be appreciated...

So what's the difference with your writing technique between a chaptered story and a one-shot? Is it that you have trouble starting without the momentum of following on, or is it that you have trouble wrapping it up?

Pretty mellow, actually. We established a gentle-persons' agreement to avoid political discussions (mostly) and focus more on writerly discussions. All good. And some things have changed--didn't you notice that I have even more lovely pin-up avatars?
