I never do ironing. This is the first time in 5yrs I have even taken the ironing board out of the hall cupboard.
I must be serious about this chocolate job

I know what you mean.
I don't remember buying it, but I have an iron. I keep it handy on the shelf in the hallway closet and never use it. It will probably fall off during an earthquake and kill me. :(

My iron is a cast iron one that fits on the solid fuel AGA we no longer have.

What is the chocolate job?

I had to iron linen this year. There is a great deal to learn about ironing linen. At least for me.

I've been ironing ever since
the Marines issued me greens...

(reci, see it? the bard's own timing!)

Not really.

I just have some RHCP running through my head...

I like pleasure spiked with pain and
Music is my aeroplane
It's my aeroplane
Songbird sweet and sour Jane and
Music is my aeroplane
It's my aeroplane
Pleasure spiked with pain
That motherfucker's always spiked with pain

Wow, that three weeks you spent in Marine Corps bootcamp was a transformative experience for you! Think of all the "life skills" you learned in such a short period of time!

  • Personal hygiene
  • Ironing
  • Fellatio

And I'm sure there are other skillz as well!

I miss the Iron Chef.
It was a lot better than the American version.

Hai!

Today's mystery ingredient is....

*gong*

Sea Cucumber!

Let's see, I'm going to make a Sea Cucumber/saffron broth, a Sea Cucumber sacher-torte, and braised Sea Cucumbers with a pineapple mango chutney demi-glace....

It was a fun show, in a very weird way, but I still miss it.

What I really miss is the so very earnest and perfectionist chefs that won't allow sous and have to do everything themselves because nobody else is perfect enough.

It is so...quintessentially Japanese.

Everybody hates me and my wife left me but DAMN IT do I make good dashi.

I always iron my work uniforms, with the heaviest iron on the market. It's therapeutic.

I have a servant who does any necessary ironing. Which is only when I need a shirt for a funeral, which is pretty frequent these days.

I hated my work shirts being all wrinkled, so I bought the wife a iron and ironing board for her 31st wedding aniversary...problem solved.

true story:D

I've ironed... iron on transfers but I never iron clothes just to make them prettier. No one's ever said anything about it. I've never been able to tell the difference so I figured no one else could either. If the fabric's thick enough it's not going to wrinkle at all, and if you hang them they wrinkle so little that it isn't worth the time or effort.

"her" 31st wedding anniversary? Don't you mean 'our'?

She didn't smack you over the head with it? :)

Ironing. It just has to be done.

I haven't ironed anything since Clinton was President. I don't even know if we have one in the house.

I just throw clothes in the dryer for ten minutes, that takes the wrinkles out.

Yeah, that's what I was doing.
But it turns out I actually need to be presentable these days.
Mind you - nothing really beats a Bonds t-shirt. They never need ironing for some reason!

I sew a lot, so the iron can help be a seamstresses best friend.

At least 8 times now I've been curious about this chocolate. Congrats on the job offer btw...but I'm really interested in tasting new chocolates. Preferably dark chocolate.
