Hollie awoke with excitement on the first day of her high school break. She was in high spirits and the sun shining through the window suggested that the rest of the world was too. Leaping from her bed she went straight down stairs, skipping the shower and not even changing out of her pink and white PJ bottoms and 'Hello Kitty' top that would be tight on a 15 year old. It seemed a little immature for an 18 year old woman, but Hollie had managed to withhold a portion of her innocents during her passage through teenage years. As she hurtled down the stairs her curly red hair bellowed behind her before floating gracefully back down past her shoulders as she entered the kitchen. She managed to cover 3 steps at a time with her beautifully long legs.
The sunlight shone directly through the kitchen window as the yellow orb rose in the early morning sky outside, and it dazzled her as she entered. With a hand raised to shield her eyes she absorbed some of the rays and converted them into a beaming smile that spread across her face as she approached the cupboard. With a creak the door was pulled open and she retrieved a frying pan and plate from inside. Next she ventured to the fridge and he stomach rumbled in anticipation. A breath of cool air wafted over her and her mouth watered slightly at the overwhelming sight of the fridges contents. Her eye's locked with a pack of sausages and her stomach gurgled in delight.
Moments later, the sausages were happy sizzling in the pay on the hobb and Hollie, even happier, was humming along to one of the generic pop songs playing out of the radio on the shelf in the corner. She had laid out her bread and buttered it accordingly and now it eagerly awaited it's greasy, delicious filling. The time arrive when the sausages were at a perfect stage for consumption and Hollie quickly poured herself a glass of bright yellow orange juice before switching the hobb down and picking up the pan to move it to the table. In her bliss, she swung 180 degrees with the pan in her hand as a triumphant gesture but she had immediately forgotten about the tall glass of juice that sat in her path.
The glass hit the floor and shattered, startling Hollie into dropping the pan face down onto the floor. The explosions of sound created drowned out the radio completely for a moment and in the aftermath it seemed as though even the sunlight had dimmed. Hollie stood in shock with both hands clasped over her mouth. She had given a high scream and now she watched the grease from the sausages slowly spread across the tiled floor and mix with the juice.
Her heart barely had enough time to recover before it was sent into immense shock once more as she heard someone racing sown the stairs to discover the disaster she was responsible for.
