It's after 10 pm here. We've had more than 30 people over for dinner and although it was good to see family and friends, I am now ready to be in my own space on my own. The children are running around playing with their new gifts, the adults are doing whatever it is that adults do. And I'm here, sending my wishes out to everyone. I grew up in this house - this is supposed to be " home. But it's not. Home is not the UK either. Home is where those I love, are. It's a place in my heart, and in my soul, where, all I have to do, is close my eyes, feel and I know I am home.

Where to start . . . (please excuse the inarticulation of this post - I'm slightly drubnk, and very tired and I wasn't sure where to stick this message . . . so I decided to be so forward as to start a thread. )

Merry Christmas, happy Chanukah (a little late), happy Kwanza (I'm not sure about dates), merry Ramadan (which is also late, I know), and happy Yule (I'm just late all over the place).

I've been quiet lately, and this isn't much, but I just wanted to let everyone know I am thinking about you and I hope you are enjoying or have enjoyed your holiday season. If I missed any holidays, I hope you'll forgive me.

I love you all, Thank you for your love and support through out the year. I cannot begin to say how much I appreciate what this sanctuary called the AH has meant to me. And the best part? It's not a place, It's people - all of you.

Eat, drink, make love, have love and be merry...happy holidays to all.
I wish you all Love and Light.
Blessed be :rose:

Much love to you, love :rose: and a *spank* you've got your own special little space in my heart

I'm in yer time zone, Vana. So a happy Christmas Eve to us, or at least the hour that's left of it. :)

Ha, you made it.
Home is where the  is Vana.
Big hug for Xmas.
Chris

Love and Peace, vana.

May the New Year bring you comfort and joy.

Merry Christmas, Vana.

Long ago, I spent a Christmas in (West) Africa, as a child. Holidays there always seemed to be such happy and festive times, both for the local and expat communities. When folks didn't have much, or couldn't get things they had been accustomed to, it seemed that what made the holiday special was celebrating traditions, as best as possible, and the good will of the people celebrating.

I suspect it would be different if I were to return, or if I hadn't been just a visitor, or just a child when my impressions were created. I was used to snow, and we had red dust blown South from the Sahara; pine trees, and we had something that looked like overgrown asparagus. Wherever we go at the holidays, we are home. :rose:

I love you, Vana, and wish you a merry Christmas, and a happy new year filled with peace, prosperity, good health and fulfillment. I send the same wish to all my friends and writerly colleagues here in the AH community.

I have been cooking all the past two days, creating a spaghetti and meatball feast that is my family's Christmas eve tradition. Soon the family and few guests will assemble, and we will have a few glasses of chianti, a lot of pasta, some garlic bread, good conversation, kids running around, etc.

Be well, all. :rose:

Merry Christmas, Momma S.
I've been thinking about you quite a bit lately and it's great to hear from you.

Amazing that a drunbk, tired Vana is still far more articulate than I am. Merry Chrristmas to everyone around here (and all the Holidays I'm missing). Hope you all get through this time of the year without saying or doing something you'll regret (families have such long memories). :D

Merry Christmas and Happy Chanukah Vana, i hope you are having a peace-filled time with your family. I also hope that you have a wonderful, fulfilling 2007 with everything that you desire.
