History students unite against war

All Ancient History departments across Canada (universities) are getting together on March 3rd, and in some way, are protesting war. The GRS branches of the universities will be doing readings of Lysistrata, a play by Aristophanes in which the women of Greece get together and go on a sex strike in order to end the war.

Yes, it's a comedy, but some of the points in the play are valid:

war interrupts family life,
war ends the lives of the young
war destroys cities and monuments

etc.

What's your uni doing? Are there student rallies taking place? Anything?

I can't for the life of me understand war protesters.Saddam Hussein is going to destroy the Middle East and the United States if we don't destroy him first..You war protesters are standing up for him..I can't stand the Jane Fondas of the world...

Well,thank God, 67% of the population are in favor of saving America and the world from this madman....You pro-Saddam people are in the minority thank God..Very soon now we shall crush Saddam and clean that rat's nest out. Actually, war isn't good for an economy. Production in wartime material does increase, but that benefit doesn't materially translate in economic grown or consumer spending. The stock market usually drops for a period during a war. This is something that economists have been saying during this whole discussion.


But here's the question I've asked before but which has never been answered. Who will stand up for the 1.5 million people Hussein has murdered?

He has had ample time to bring forth everything.
People say more time so he is given more time, then they say even more. the man is laughing in our face. How much time does he need? He had four years..
