It must be a sign that I'm getting old, but over the last few years I've seen more and more women at the beach wearing "hike" bikini bottoms, or other styles that expose most of their ass. It seems to be a trend with everyone from teenagers up to mom's in their 40's with good bodies. Was there a memo that I missed? Is this mainly what is available in stores now?

I feel like when we go to the beach we are now seeing a side of women that only used to be exposed in the bedroom. I can't help but wonder what women are thinking when they buy these and wear these. I realize that they are designed to flatter a woman's ass shape and that different cuts work for different shapes, but they are all sexualized. As a horny male it's hard for me to see a woman's ass presented in this way without thinking about taking her from behind....or the way that her boyfriend does behind closed doors. Maybe we eventually get used to it and become desensitized. Or, do women want their friends to see them this way? Do men get excited knowing that their friends can see their wife's or girlfriend's ass and are probably thinking about fucking them?

I might be thinking about fucking them if they were wearing sweat pants….

Peoples thoughts Are their own and they’re responsible for their actions (ie i can think about fucking anyone I want, but I don’t have their permission to comment or make them feel uncomfortable with my actions.)

So, it’s really up to the woman to display her beauty however she wants, she’s not “asking for it” anymore than if she’s wearing an Amish dress.

Society needs to worry less about who’s displaying what and more about who’s acting how and them being responsible considerate and appropriate members of society.

I've got those in black that I wear as underware. 😋 'Hollister' I think.

Fully naked often seems less sexy than many swimsuits. Why is naked seen as taboo? Is it just because men can't control themselves?

I've heard the whole argument from the Christian perspective before. It's all based on male weakness and temptation, casting women as Jezzabelles wanting to corrupt men and ruin families. Is that your truth?

Why wouldn't women's athletics be sexualized?

Especially on this site?
I didn't mean to infer that Lit is involved.

As for why not? I think sexualizing the athlete diminishes her achievements. Put another way, it's less about the achievements, than how she looks. Women have fought long and hard for a place at the table; I hate to see pole dancing become an Olympic event. I'm being facetious here, but a look-see at YT coverage of women's track and field makes the point.

I like 'em!
On the beach or at the pool.

What I don't like is seeing women's athletics sexualized.

It's a tough dichotomy.

On the one hand, people should be able to wear whatever they want. On the other hand, clothes can be sexy and distracting. A cute swimsuit on an attractive body can definitely be titilating, and yes it can bring up erotic feelings and thoughts.

Being admired, feeling attractive and desirable can be exhilarating but it can also bring along extra baggage. Being objectified and harassed by people with no filter can be degrading.

What's right and what's wrong and who decides who can tell people what they can and can't wear?

I was going to reference the YT track and field videos when I first saw this thread, but you got there first. I don't disagree with your points, but at the same time it seems that many women choose to wear these diminishing uniforms. I often see women in the same sport from the same country wearing different shorts or tops -- with varying degrees of coverage. I can only guess that they are given a choice of what to wear, and some choose the smallest options possible. And even if they weren't choosing smallest, they would no doubt go with skin-tight. The competitive disadvantages to having fabric flapping in the breeze are obvious.

I definitely have a few cheeky bottoms, but I normally avoid this type of bottom if I can. I don’t have the greatest ass, which is probably part of the reason. If I’m going to let anything hang out more it is going to be my breasts.

I'm jus the opposite :) nice butt small boobs lol why can't we ever get it right ....
Haha I think most are blessed with one or the other. I wouldn’t trade my boobs for a nice butt, but there are definitely times where I wish my butt was a little better 😬

Re ladies showing their butt and their boyfriends or husbands, I suppose some do and some don't.
I would guess most don't care.
I think my father back in the 1920s, thought the same about lady's showing their calves as we do about seeing her butt. In Berlin Germany I've walked along streets and seen naked ladies working in their garden or sunning themselves in the public park.

a guy sees me from behind and its wowowow and then when he gets to the front he asks if my parents know Im out LOL
God, I feel for you... it was that way for me when I was younger. These days... I may not quite look my age, but no one thinks I'm that young anymore.

Agreed.
And yet, men manage to be competitive in uniforms that expose a more modest amount of flesh. The comparison is stark.

Lot's of good points here, and I realize that the question is not just about bikini bottoms, but a much broader topic about how woman portray themselves, especially in athletic or professional situations. In athletics, sure, there can be a competitive advantage to wearing less. If a woman in a professional work environment chooses to wear yoga pants that show off her ass, maybe she wants to be comfortable at work. People choose to go naked at the beach, just for the simple joy of being outdoors naked. On the other hand, men and women have always attracted the opposite sex in different ways. Women have historically been objectified and have similarly used their sexual appeal to advantage. Equality has improved, little by little, but it still has a long way to go. One can argue that showing one's ass cheeks is the contemporary equivalent of showing a calf 100 years ago. It's just interesting that as we are slowly moving toward greater equality with women increasingly showing their strength and value in arenas formally limited to men, that they are simultaneously showing more and more of their bodies. I know that some people see that as empowerment and others see it as moving backward and promoting objectification....maybe it's a little of both, or depends on the particular situation.

Well, THIS thread is posted in the "Fetish & Sexuality" section.

I get and respect your reasons, although I don't necessarily agree with the notion that sexualizing/fetishizing women's athletic wear necessarily diminishes female athletes or their accomplishments.

i kind of had the same thoughts this summer. i had the feeling that women were wearing "smaller bottoms" than in the years before.

Also, being married to a very fit and active woman, I figure that many female athletes are of a similar mind to my wife's way of thinking. They are proud of their body, the hard work they have put into being fit, and especially proud of what their bodies can do, that most others are not. It's not being objectified, it's empowerment. It's them, strutting around, confident, putting everyone else on notice.

Let me tell you. At the skating rink, my wife knows what she is wearing, what it shows off, and who she is showing it off to. There are no shortage of women at the rink, they don't all talk to each other, my wife only talks to a few, but I will bet my bottom dollar that every woman there recognizes a hierarchy, and their place within it. I watch them on the rink. They are know who they can keep pace with, who their competition is, and who to steer clear of. I wouldn't consider any of those women stupid, naive, or weak. Hell, there are at least 2, besides my wife, that could kick my ass.

No, I will not divulge the name of the rink! Everyone there is pleased with the current, homeostatic ecosystem, and it should stay that way.

Also, remember that in addition to modesty, the purpose of clothing is to provide insulation, and retain body heat. That is anathema to competing in temperate or tropical climates. The athlete wants to lose that body heat, and fast.

Besides, the idea that a female athlete here in America is competing against her will, or is some kind of victim is ridiculous. Especially when considering how much of women's sports take place in a collegiate setting. So, odds are these women have degrees, and a lucrative and productive career to enjoy after athletics.

Panties or bikini bottoms do not make an ass sexy.
The ass that fills them up makes the panties or bikini bottoms sexy.
I like when they are revealing.
I like when you can see the gap formed by her pussy.
I get an erection if there is hair peeking around the edges.
Loose fitting tops that reveal more when bending down to pick something up work for me too. Specially if revealed on purpose.
I am sorry to say hard nipples under sheer fabric or aureola visible through fabric make me stare. I cannot take my eyes away. Seems to get me in trouble.

Going on a couple of beach trips/vacations each year and also spending a ton of time at the lake each summer, I have definitely noticed this trend over the last several years, especially in 20-somethings where either thong or almost-thong bottoms seem to have become the norm. Although as a few have said, there are also plenty of women decades older who are now not shy about showing lots more cheekiness. I know my wife and some of her friends wear very skimpy bottoms now that they would not have considered five years or more back.

As an ass guy, I'm definitely not complaining!

There have been many different things that have lead me to wearing more thong like bottoms at the beach. The first and most basic one if you have worn a bikini or even one piece before is often the material end up riding up your butt to begin with. So just admitting the inevitable but having less fabric between your cheeks lol. Number two is I actually find them to be pretty comfortable and avoiding tan lines or burn lines lol. Actually most of the time I enjoy swimming nude so on hikes, at home, or some places it's better to skip the suit all together. As for it being a way for me to show off my ass I guess I have never really thought much about it beyond men I wanted to see my cheeks. Not like I am hoping to put on a show for everyone lol. I usually wear shorts over my bottoms going from the car to the beach and back to the car as well.
