hi

Yeah really WD, go for it.

You can never have enough education.

Good luck!!!!

I hear the booze is better in grad school.

Seriously though, go for it, if you wanna!

:rose:

My degree is in accounting so probably some MBA program. One thing I learned in school is that MBAs were mainly set up for nonbusiness majors.

Yea, but at some point there's a diminishing return on your investment. Well, that's the thinking that's kept me from returning for my MBA - that's what I keep telling myself, that is. Anyway, I think this is the year I bite the bullet and jump back in the water, too.

WD... good luck, brother.

Or I could just get a second degree in finance. That would be a piece of cake. And cheaper too probably.

I just started an MBA (part time) this year. So far, I love it! It's totally different to any study I have done before (science background) and I really like the interactive discussions, rather than the undergrad-style lectures. It's not that difficult , it just takes up a LOT of time. I'm doing two units per trimester, plus working full time (40 hours per week). Lectures are all at night (6-9pm), and I usually spend at least one full day per weekend doing the readings/assignments.
Definitely take your time selecting your school, I think it'll make a difference to how much you enjoy it.

To get her 150 hours to sit for the CPA exam, Kitty is getting a second bachelor's in economics. The way the accounting degree is set up here, you take enough classes that you have most of an economics degree, anyhow.

The problem, however, is finding a CPA firm to hire you, so you can get the necessary experience to take the exam. That's Kitty's problem at the moment.

But, yeah, grad hours are more expensive than undergrad hours. If you want to get a master's, why not get a master's in accounting? I've heard that a lot of the graduate business degrees ARE set up for non-business people, and that many of them aren't worth the paper they're written on.

Says the girl with the bachelor's in psychology and 3/4ths of a master's in English. Not that I have a ton of room to be talking about worthless degrees.

I have an accounting undergrad degree and went back for an MST. I, too, considered an MBA, but realized what I wanted to study would only have been 4 courses with the MBA whereas the MST was 10 courses of it. I saw the MBA as a review of my undergrad courses (which I didn't like the first time, let alone a second time, lol).

If you're thinking of Finance, and MSF might be worth considering.

Just wanted to through out some other ideas for you! Good luck in what you decide to pursue!!
