what are your opinions of the direction the new books have taken the SW Universe?
me? i hate it. i got the book where Chewie died and stopped there. i saw bad, bad, bad things on the horizon that would take it in an entirely different direction than i was hoping for.
frankly, i'm sick and tired of galaxy-changing stories. i don't want any more. i'm also getting tired of world-changing fantasy stories, too. what i wanted was new stories where characters didn't have the weight of the entire New Republic resting on their shoulders. stories that don't center around one all encompassing plot.
i was hoping for stuff without the epic scale that most of the SW books and the original trillogy feature, but still in the SW universe. something like the Tales From books (Mos Eisley, Jabba's Palace, the Empire, of the Bounty Hunters), I, Jedi, or the three that center on Boba Fett.
but that's just my opinion.
what's yours?
