just finished reading the first book, The Way of Shadows, and it's the best i've read of this genre. i think you'd appreciate the writing.

erm, not so much yer smut per se, though there's all sorts of sexual nastiness, twistedness and murder involved. more down and bloody extreme-assassin/mages/warfare/spying prostitutes and gutter children. there's a fair chunk of a huge young blonde warrior type walking around naked, though, killing his captors who'd planned on cutting off his nads before feeding him to the buggering rapists in the bad prison.

but there's lots of good stuff in it as well love'n stuff, hidden love, unrequited love, forbidden love, and poison. lots of poison.
