Couldn't find a foody thread in here. Made a foody thread. Hope that's ok.

I like food. I like rude. So here goes.


Sexy Ladles and Jellyspoons of Lit, Show me your rudey foody pics.

Tom loves silverside and spuds. Or corned beef or whatever you like to call it where you're from. It's a really simple belly filler for the kids as well.

Because i'm working from home, i put the silverside in the slow cooker early in the day because it lets the flavours really soak through the meat. I add onions, herbs, peppercorns and a bay leaf. Sometimes other things too, but that's the usual.

When hubby got home from work later, i started prepping the potatoes. That way they're ready when the kids and us are showered and ready for dinner.

Later, i start the white sauce. Tom always makes the same :rolleyes: joke, "I've got some white sauce for ya.." snigger lol whatever mate. It's basically a bechamel with some vintage cheese tonight. Sometimes i add garlic and herbs but the kids appreciate the simple version.

Then Tom carves because he fussy about the grain of the meat and it's just easier than doing it myself. (Me Man... Me cut meat.)

Et viola. It's pretty bland looking but it's simple and delicious. (bit like hubby)

(A fucking mosquito... There's a fucking mosquito in my food. Why can't it be the kids food. They need the protein more.)

Great idea!

Grilled shrimp and steak with lots of veggies just last night. I did not see this forum til this morning so no pics but will tomorrow.

Nothing fancy last night. Tom cooked, which was nice. He made good ole rissoles with burned onion gravy and mash. Comfort food all day long.

I forgot to take pics as I made pasta sauce. :(

I wish I had seen this thread before dinner! We had grilled sausages & burgers with chips, alas I have no pics of it, rude or otherwise, lol.

BUT! I have subscribed and shall endeavor to contribute.

Mustard Cider Pork, a Nigella Lawson recipe

A 1 lb pork tenderloin, sliced into 1-inch thick pieces, pounded to 1/2-inch, the fried in garlic olive oil:

When browned, move to a warm oven, use 1/2 cup of cider to deglaze the pan. Drink the rest, you've earned it.

Yum! Don't say "Nigela" too loudly, Tom will end up with tennis elbow. He's a massive fan. Will have to give this a try.

Anyway, back to our regular programming.

Some buns and a loaf of sourdough bread from the weekend. It's getting hard to find bread with all the panic shopping at the moment.

Think they turned out okay.
