Thought I would wander throught the active forums and say Hi. I am not very good at writing poetry but I do like to read it.

Welcome Kim!

Don't be bored! Lotsa good stuff here; come read poems and let us know if you have any questions.

Ah-HA! not very good at writing it denotes ~ at the least ~ a willingness to write BAD POETRY!! and, as luck would have it, we have plenty of ex-bad poets (myself a recent grad of suck-ass-school of poetry) who can contest that there's plenty of spit, polish, and helping suggestions towards making you a CONFIDENT BAD POET... which is the same thing as a poet who knows he or she is bad, but is ~ again at the least ~ willing to keep trying.

Honest, I'm not a paid advertisement. :D

No, I am hopeless I don't think I could even write good, dirty, bar lymrics.

I enjoy reading some poetry but just can't write it. John Donne is actually one of my favorites.

there once was a kim who was bored
who needed to be reassured
that anyone can write
a poem without fright
and post them here on this board

(note: I hate when I have to us a homophone instead of a unique rhyme, but sometimes it happens)

I thought you'd created a new form of the limerick, Cecil; I was about to congratulate you on it......

oh okay, yeah.
I think now I can get over my homophobia and admit that I created a new form of limerick, in which the first and last lines must be homophones

Have you READ any of my poetry? lol

I can't write it that stuff for the life of me...but come post a descriptive passage in my thread...I'm feeling alienated.
