Here's how you know Obama is in trouble.

Please enjoy this short video of Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes doggedly refusing to say whether she voted for her party's standard-bearer two years ago during a meeting with a Kentucky newspaper's editorial board.

And

Nevertheless, Sen. Shaheen recently appeared on Andrea Mitchell Reports to say she was “delighted” Bill and Hillary Clinton would be coming to New Hampshire to campaign for her. Curiously, however, she was remarkably unenthusiastic and distant when asked if she wanted the president to come as well:

Stay home, in other words, is what she really meant to say. After all, one component of the GOP electoral playbook this election cycle is tying Senate Democrats to the unpopular president and his policies. Hence why precious few vulnerable Democratic incumbents are voluntarily calling the White House asking him to come visit them. To do so would be political suicide in some cases, especially in deeply red and purplish states like New Hampshire.

The Dems dont want him with them. The Dems may not have even voted for him.

Yea.... Hope and Change.

You're really proud that you ruined hope and change aren't you? It's really disgusting how much you hate your country.

I really hope you are not assuming that anybody on this forum ruined "hope and change." There is always hope and the changes under Obama were negative ones. Transparency in government? Hah! He's just another politician, although less competent than most.

As for the tactic of tying the lame duck incumbent to the new candidate, the Dems, with the help of their toadies in the news media, enjoyed great success with that in 2008, with their claims of "Bush's third term." The difference is that the leading Dem candidate was closely associated with some of the worst mistakes of the Obama presidency while McCain had little to do with the Bush presidency.

Yes you all did, it's funny how badly you guys want to absolve yourselves of responsibility for your actions. There weren't a lot of changes under OBama but they weren't negative on the rare occasion they happened. Transparency in government? PErfect , not by a long shot, but there is a reason to believe transparancy in government just isn't a good thing. But certainly better than anything in recent memory yes.

Nevermind the high profile stonewalling and obstuction. By any objective standard this adminstration has been more resistant to and nonresponsive to FOIA requests than any previous adminisrtration.

And no..a government that hides things is up to no good.

A government that isn't hiding things clearly cannot function. Ours has shown that we've probably passed the point of open where it causes more problems than it solves.

As for the various requests, at this point that is far beyond oh well. He's been far more cooperative than a sane person would have been with people who have such hatred for him. But that's why he's a weak leader.

Bullshit. They are hiding things that embarrass them. Things where secrecy is of no importance. Dumping the phone and computer records of the EPA head was OK, why? Government employees ALL OF THEM work for and are accountable to oversight and the public.

At this point it seems obvious they didn't dump phone records or if they did they did an incredibly odd job of it.

In theory all governments are able to be looked into by the public. In practice we've got going on fifteen years of "obviously it doesn't work when the public knows to much" and frankly anybody with a lick of sense knew this shit ahead of time but it's nice to be able to point at reality and say "there is no longer an argument."

I don't know of many who actually hate Obama personally, although there are many who strongly disagree with his policies, including myself.

How about Lois Lerner's emails?

Yeah, Grimes is trying to distance herself because of her current senate campaign. McConnell has nothing to actually defend himself with, so all his attack campaigns are like, "Grimes likes the president! The BLACK president! That's fucked up, right? I mean, in KENTUCKY."

And it hurt her ratings so for a while she was like, "Dude McConnell totally sucks at his job. He doesn't go to work, said women should be thankful for rape, cut benefits for low income families and veterans, voted against anti-posion in the water regulations, etc etc."

And McConnell was like, "Seriously. The president is soooo black. He doesn't even have that good hair. And she likes him."

So now she's like, "I don't like him that much, Mich. And you like Mexicans!"

Because that's how we do politics in Ky. Via racism.

Damn it, I wanted to link to the actual commercials I'm talking about but this shitty internet won't run youtube.

If you and the Right in general don't genuinely hate him you certainly do an above average imitation of it. There have been multiple say something positive about Obama threads floated to give you guys a chance.

Seems unlikely.

Idk. Because of the whole youtube not working thing. But there are a bunch of them that I was going to link every sentence I talked about them to the individual ad. But I can't. Annoying. You'd think hospitals would have decent guest internets.

Edit: Living in Kentucky is embarrassing, in general, but during election season it's face-palm enduing, just curl up in the corner and hold your organs because it physically hurts how shitty we are as a culture time.

2nd edit: I just want you to understand that this is how our discussion went.

Me: I'd find this series of commercials if youtube would load.
You: Is it this one?
Me: I don't know. ...because YOUTUBE WON'T LOAD.

Use context clues.

I don't think you would have linked to the one I did. It's a damn good political ad for Mitch McConnell, and the opposite of what you've portrayed.

I live in Ky and have done nothing but sit with an elderly woman with a broken hip and watched old people TV in a hospital for a week and a half. It would be near impossible for me to have not seen any ad he put out, and they're all terrible.

The one I linked to has been running heavily in Kentucky, and features a very impressive black woman who makes Mitch McConnell out to be her hero, and the savior of her daughter. It kills the charges of racism against McConnell, which are ridiculous anyway.

I have read many things on the forum about Obama, some of them positive and some negative. He was a good basketball player in high school, he speaks well, is intelligent and charismatic. I disagree with most of his policies, to such an extant that I have expressed suspicions he is trying to destroy the country.

Oh yeah, I've seen that one! The classic, "BUT I HAVE ONE BLACK FRIEND! Not that I've ever met her or would want to be near her or anything. And I know she LOOKS like she smells funny, but I swear she doesn't. Isn't it cool how they can be almost like white folks? I'm a progressive southern man! I let tan folks in my backyard all the time. If you were to run your fingers through her hair, you'd notice that it'd be a little more coarse than normal white folk. But that's ok, because sometimes all they need is a hand-out and they'll be almost as good as us!"

The charges of racism are backfiring on Grimes and her supporters, and on Democrats in general all over the country. McConnell is no racist. And he will win reelection as sure as the sun comes up in the East in the morning.

It's so cute that you think that. But you're the same guy who can't tell blood from tempura so whatcha gonna do?

You're the same guy who thinks blood is tempura, which isn't cute. Tell you what, if McConnell loses I'll never write another word about politics on this site. Want to make a bet on it? If Grimes loses, you stop writing about politics?

That you would say that is basically outright hatred. So you've got two things that count as positives, which probably puts you near the top of the pack.
