I just skimmed that thread. People aren't actually going to read and respond that amount of verbiage in one sitting. Perhaps stating your position and backing it up with selected text and links? Make it not only a bit shorter, but something people can actually respond to.

I have trouble responding to quoted articles because while you may agree with them and they are representative of your opinion, they aren't actually your opinion.

Actually the articles are opposite of my opinions but everyone else looked like they were having fun bashing the bible and christians, so i thought I would join in, that makes me the villian. Oh dear me I think I'll go eat worms.

Don't be such an emotional extremist, Todd. It's okay for people to disagree with you and even to bash Christians. Just like it's okay for you to disagree with people and bash Democrats. You should know that some things will get a strong and unwanted reaction out of people. Particular when you're politically and religiously the polar opposite of the prevailing wind on this board.

You seem to get an us versus them, with them being the majority of the board, feel to your posts.

Thats why I was trying to place nice and play on thier side of the fence and they got upset at me doing what they do that was what makes me laugh so hard.

Let me amake the analogy of two fat kids being teased by the cool kids. the cool kids think its great to tease the fat kids.

One of the Fat kids decides he wants to see what its like to do the teasing so he turns on the other fat kid.

Soon as he does that he is deemed the social misfit, and its very uncool for him to do that.

Todd, the problem is that no one thinks you're posting those things altruistically. You appear to be posting them so that you can be cast into the role of the outcast, misfit, victim. You play the martyr very well.

You say that you're posting what they agree with to help them slam Christianity. Well, you're not. I have no idea why you're doing it and the only logical conclusion is that you're doing it to get a rise out of people.

It's not your religion, your politics, or your off the wall statements that's the underlying problem here. It's your ability to seemingly martyr yourself over your opinions. It makes you come across as an attention hungry fake and not the real you.

You're a good person, Todd, and you're smart. You can and have discussed issues in a reasonable and intelligent manner. You can never get anyone to agree with you without their wanting to. Accept that you will disagree with a lot of people on several of your key issues and go from there.

im new'ish to the board (when will that stop being the case)


but from what ive seen i think todds a pretty decent fellow but hes got himself in abit of a fix and started to act in a way that he probably would rather not ... a way that isnt really himself


his opinions are very different to most people on this board and hes tried so hard to convince people to sway to his side that "some" people have decide to push back against todds views in a extreme way ... this has resulted in todd having to switch tactics ... hes feeling alittle hard done by (understandable) and hes choosing to act alittle hard done by (bad move)


todd your never going to convince even a small amount of people on here to switch to your views ... but what you can do is gain peoples respect for you and your beliefs ... i really admire people with religious beliefs even though im not religious myself i had a catholic up bringing and it helped me be the person i am


todd i want to know the real you i want to hear YOUR opinions on political and non political discussion ... i'd love to hear how someone with a strong christian belief can fit in here how he can comment on different subjects ... ive got a strong suspicion that if we heard your real opinions (not just pasted articles) you'd surprise alot of people here


and next time you want to paste an article (i enjoy you doing that sometimes) ... please write alittle paragraph after it telling me what you opinion is of the article im dumb and i dont know whats going on in america all the time and im not always sure what your trying to say when you post some articles i'd enjoy discussing with you if you wrote about of your own opinions with them
