Here is a snack for "The Cutest Little Communist" Cynthia McKinney supporters.
WOULD YOU WANT YOUR CONGRESSMAN TO BE CONSIDERED A FOOL?
More about Cynthia McKinney. If you weren’t listening yesterday you didn’t get to hear the statements she made on the Tom Joyner show. She was responding to criticism of the apology she wrote to that Saudi Prince who offered Rudy Giuliani $10 million in relief aid, only to have it refused after the Prince tied the terrorist attacks to American policy on Israel. Cynthia, as you know, apologized to the Prince for the snub, pandered to his position on Palestine, and asked for the $10 million.
Well – the criticism of Congresswoman Cynthia “The Cutest Little Communist in Congress” McKinney was widespread and strong. She felt the need to respond, so she runs to the guaranteed friendly arena of the Tom Joyner show to state her case. And what a case it was. McKinney essentially wrapped herself in her skin color and blamed the whole thing on race.
To paraphrase .. McKinney made the whole thing an issue between black and white. She said that “they” (whoever “they” are) don’t want blacks to be heard on issues of foreign policy. “They” think that blacks should be “seen and not heard.”
“They” don’t want blacks to be heard on foreign policy issues? When is the last time Cynthia checked to see who our Secretary of State is?
Bluntly put --- When the going got tough, Cynthia McKinney hid behind her race. She refused to take personal responsibility for what she had done and said, and put the entire controversy in the context of “them” (whites) vs. “us” (blacks).
Where does this lead? It leads to Cynthia McKinney being considered as a lightweight. When her rhetoric stoops to this absurd base level people simply stop listening to her and stop taking her seriously. This leads to her constituents not having an effective voice in Congress. In effect, so long as Cynthia McKinney uses her color as a shield against criticism the people who live in her congressional district will not be effectively represented in Congress.
