Help with user pic

Hey all,

Kind of new to this whole forum thing. Was wondering if someone had any advice on how I can make sure my picture doesn't fail when I try to upload it to my profile. I tried to modify (in paint) a large picture I found, saving it as a jpg and reducing the size to what I thought was appropriate but it still didn't work.

Any advice would be much appreciated!
