How do I remove a thread that I posted?

You have to ask the Mods, Laurel or Manu. Often they don't, but you can ask anyway.

Your best bet would be to edit the text out to "deleted" or, whatever 5-character edit you want, even 5 periods would work.

To add to what SD said, even if you edit your posts, they'll still show up in the posts of people who have quoted you unless you PM them and ask them to edit their posts as well.
