Help with a new story.

Hi all!
I am currently writing a story where a town's parents have been altering the bodies on their unruly (18+) kids, with each couple changing their kids in different ways. One couple has feminized their son another has made their daughter go through extreme weight gain.

my question is does anyone have any ideas for other changes or modifications some parents might make?

Add horns, bird or bat wings, extra eyes or mouths, ominous fangs, wiggly ears.

Lengthen arms, legs, fingers, neck, nose, torso, penis or clitoris, tongue.

Perforate or remove selected protruding bits.

Change facial structure, skin color, larynx, vertebrae, bladder capacity.

I hope you're not serious about this.

If I were reading a story where parents were altering the bodies of their kids, the first thing that would leap to mind would be: WHY???? I know you said they were "unruly," but I don't see how that explains the motive. There has to be a reason that the reader can comprehend (not necessarily agree with, but at least understand) or suspension of belief goes out the window.

Even if the reason is as simple as "the parents were insane due to magic/environment/aliens/etc," it would give the reader a reason to accept what would otherwise be unbelievable.

Remember why Truth is stranger than Fiction: fiction has to make sense.

Hi,

I like the basic idea. Maybe the whole thing as a scientific experiment and or reintegration for juvenile offenders as a substitute for prison. (The official/scientists offer this possibility free of charge to the parents, whether the juveniles may be told something is another question...)

feminization -> suppression of the sexual drive
weight gain ->
the complete body is hairy ->
removal of a large part of the muscle mass -> is forced to stay in the house + learn more
super sensitivity / high pain sensation -> less extreme sports
the classic animal ears/tails or changed skin color/hair color -> as punishment for bad grades
