Yea ok. Weird subject line, but I needed to catch people's attention because we are paddling in desperate waters no. -grins- Ok this is the deal. About a week and a half ago, I was convinced to get certain tender parts pierced. The initial piercing was no heaven, but it wasn't as bad as I thought, at elast down yonder. Ladies, if anyone ever tells you that nipple piercings don't hurt, hit them with something. Hurts like a mother. By the second day, the pain for both different piercings faded, but now the itching has begun, because they are healing. The place where I got the piercings done, is on speed-dial and they keep assuring me that it is normal. I have been showering twice a day and using the aftercare as told to, but the sea-salt spray they told me to use seems to be drying out my skin and making me chafe around the piercings. I was curious if there are any women out there who have had a hood piercing or nipple piercing, and what they did if anything else, to try and appease the itch that is worse than a flippin mosquitoe bite.

If a guy chimes in, please, keep the lewdness to a minimum. I am just trying to get more input and figured, hey, this is as good a place as any to find it. Thanks all.

Imp, Lucky........over to you??

I didn't experience any itching. *shrug* I did, however, use Bactine on a cloth nursing shield for the first couple days. It has a numbing agent in it.

The sea salt should be rinsed over the piercing- and then rinsed away, I would think. You don't leave salt on your skin.
You got the itchies because there are so incredibly many nerve endings there!
You did nipples and your hood- at the same time? Whoo boy!

It hurt for all of 2 seconds. Throbbed (painlessly) for about 30 minutes. After that ... it was fine.

I  it!

I got both nipples pierced about 6 months ago. The initial pain was pretty bad, but faded quickly. The healing process was relatively painless, unless I forgot about them for a moment and brushed/rubbed/caught one on something. OUCH!

I switched from the sea salt spray that I got from the piercer, to saline solution. The same solution I use for my contacts. The extreme itching I was having went away after the switch. I cleaned them at least a half a dozen times a day for the first couple of weeks, after that just in the morning with saline and in the evening when I took a shower. The reason I cleaned them so much to begin with, I work in a very dusty/dirty environment. I didn't want to take any chances.

Thanks for the input guys. WyoD_S, thatw as acyually very useful info. I will try the saline because the sea salt is itching. They told me to spray once and clean with a q-tip, then spray again and let it dry but ugh, it is drying out my skin.

Mmm the hood piercing hurt for about 30 secodns then was fine-like normal. VERY weird but the nipples O M G. NEVER AGAIN! The piercer hit scar tissue in the left one-don't know why, because I have never been pierced before, but he had to withdraw and do it again-mind you didn't use clamps. NEVER AGAIN. I had to take pain killers first night but by second was better. Now they are fine, except for the itchiness.

BTW, in case anyone is thinking of doing it and in the Jersey area, the place is reputable. Been around since 1990. The name is PLEASURABLE PIERCINGS in New Jersey. Very skilled and informative people there.
