At 23 years old, my first and biggest concern would be cardiovascular disease or diabetes. Erectile problems can be a sign of trouble in someone your age. You should see a urologist or your regular doctor.

Once you have ruled out a physiological cause, then you might consider whether your masturbation habits are part of the problem. I can't stress a medical screening strongly enough, but if you are a heavy porn consumer then there some anecdotal evidence that excessive porn use can lead to sexual dysfunction. There are some "sex positive" web sites that will pick up pitchforks and torches for daring to blame porn for anything, so you'll hear from both sides of the fence on that. Still, if you use porn heavily and your problem isn't physical then it may be worth cutting way back on the porn and masturbation and see if maybe you've just gotten desensitized.

I'll say again that at 23 years old you shouldn't be having erectile problems. See a doctor.

Edited to ask, are you taking any antidepressants or SSRIs?

Or, remember someone telling you about masturbating too much will cause you to go blind, well you won't go blind, but your body just might need a rest. Stop beating off for a week and see what happens. Also, don't look at or read any porn for that week. Just go to work and watch some boring TV.

Or as pplwatching asked, if your on a anti-depressant, that might have an effect.

I was told by my doctor that my libido would take a tumble when she started me on Prozac a long time ago. Instead it increased it. So, she changed it to Paxil and everything smoothed out. Nowadays there are many more to chose from and it might take time to find one that doesn't effect you so much.

At 23, it's probably not ED. You are probably bored with your primary masturbation targets, and you may be doing it too much. I'd suggest to hold off for a few days and then try again.

That said, I would also echo what was said above. Are there any medical issues? Heart issues can appear as ED issues. Any kidney issues? My ED at age 45 was caused by a kidney stone that created a blockage. It's now been remedied. Also, certain prescription drugs can affect it, especially those for depression. That all said, you should talk about it with your doctor.

I do feel for you guys though. I have millennial friends who would do just about anything for a girlfriend, and they just can't find single females anywhere. Something has happened and nobody can explain it.

I agree with the others in that there may be a medical problem if a man in his early 20s has an ED problem.

Are you taking any antidepressants, especially SSRIs??
Are you taking any blood pressure medications?
What kind of physical shape are you in?

Depression or hormone problems could also be an issue. How are your levels of interest in sex? Have you noticed any changes?

There are various websites that advocate that porn causes ED. However, they are also eager to sell you their therapy solution. There are studies that contradict these positions.

Don't be embarassed about seeking medical help. ED issues can sometimes indicate that there is an underlying medical condition that needs to be addressed.

Everyone seems pretty quick to go all WebMD on ya... may be right, but prolly not. Unless you're really obese and lived your whole life on fast food and high fructose diet... or are genetically predisposed, its probably not heart disease or diabetes. I mean, it could be, but probably not.

I'm thinking people are more correct with the pr0n thing. It is possible to get bored masturbating. Im hyper sexual and have gone though periods of excessive masturbation... like 4x per day for weeks. Erection quality suffers. Pulling a bar fly or thumbing through the contact list for a couple booty calls tended to set me back on track.

Perhaps that's something to try? Stop jerkin it and find someone to poke on.

Just to add to what everyone else has said, once you rule out physical issues (heart disease, diabetes, other circulation issues), pharmacological issues (medications), and psychological (boredom with what you're doing/watching), look to neurological. There are several neurological diseases, like Multiple Sclerosis for example, that can cause ED.

I guess my problem is Excessive Porn, Depression and not Working out.. Cos I have been stuck at some situations for few years.. And have been Going thru depression and obviously porn to over come that.. Like for 2 to 3 hours everyday.. And jerking off Atleast once every day..

But since I realized this issue with me.. I've reduced porn. I barely watch. And started meditating and running. I'm not any medication.. Not I'm physically I'll.. I guess it's more of a Psychological issue.. I'm also planning to take some Testosterone boosting pills. Will that be a right thing to do??

Have your physician check your testosterone levels before you start messing with the supplements, getting the levels too high can be harmful to your health.

Testosterone pills are not regulated in the US (I don't know where you are). They don't have to pass clinical trials and often contain ingredients that have nothing to do with testosterone. In some cases it's even knock off drugs like the active ingredient in Viagra. I'd stay away from them.

In general, it doesn't sound like testosterone is your problem though. Advertisers love to make it sound like everyone's on it, but as SithLord mentioned, Testosterone is a powerful hormone. I was on testosterone injection therapy myself due to extremely low levels, with my doc regularly monitoring my red blood cell count and PSA. My RBC would get elevated and my doc would worry about the increased risk of stroke. My PSA levels went up and my prostate got bigger. Unfortunately, there is evidence that supplemental testosterone can feed prostate cancer so the alarms go off. Two prostate biopsies later, no sign of cancer but definitely not something I'd want to repeat.

In your case, I'd focus on diet and exercise, which might help bring your overall mood and sense of wellbeing up too. If you don't see much improvement, then I'd still suggest mentioning it to your Dr.

I agree, I doubt at 23 it is a medical condition and I doubt it is testosterone. They are selling testosterone as a miracle cure these days, and to be honest it is like the magic weight loss pills they sell, it is bullshit (yes, some herbs like horny goat weed and the like can boost testosterone levels, but often whatever effect it has is placebo level). If your testosterone levels were that low you likely wouldn't be masturbating, you would have little to no sex drive. If it makes you better, go see your doctor, get a physical, ask him to check your T levels, never hurts to get a checkup.

The thing about porn is that while it can be fun and stimulating, it doesn't really make us feel better or do much for us emotionally I feel. Orgasms are as much a factor of the mind and emotion as being the physical reaction to sex. Masturbation usually is best when someone is already feeling aroused, in a good place, sounds like you are using it to try and fend off something else.

Glad you are exercising, that is a really, really good boost , it fights depression, and meditating and mindfullness help a lot.

The other thing is do you have other social relationships? Friends? and are you dating. I know i am going to sound like an old fart and sound like I am being judgemental (I am not), but I kind of wonder if part of the problems some young people have is they are putting incredible pressure on themselves to have sex with someone, that that is the be all and end all (and yes I do remember what it was like to be 23 , the whole hook up culture to me seems to put more pressure on the younger kids having sex and if you don't must be something wrong (then again, before the internet, there was some of the same thing with singles bars and the like). Are you or have you tried dating simply to date, have a good time and not put pressure on to have sex or create immediately a relationship or having sex? You might find out that leads to a healthier place for yourself, too (and it is just a suggestion, I have no agenda, I promise, and when I was young we were just as crazy, horny and confused as any young person today is, and we weren't exactly angels either *lol*)

Saying this as gently as possible, whether this is a medical problem, a psychological problem or simply boredom and overexposure, you'd be a darned fool to depend on a bunch of anonymous posters on an erotica site to solve it for you.

If you are having problems getting or sustaining an erection to the point that it worries you, you need to talk to somebody who is trained, can actually talk to you, do a complete assessment and do tests as needed. That lets out everybody here. Go see a doctor.

you have probably been told this by now--, but what you are describing sounds nerve damage. Not necessarily ED, since that denotes an inability or difficulty in attaining and maintaining an erection. Find out what vitamins and nutrients that your body lacks and replace them and you'll probably be back to working out those triceps in no time.

Okay, so there are many posts above mine that are on point, but I'm going to re-state the points along with some of my own based on my own personal experience with ED which started happening in my mid-20's and has gotten steadily worse as I've gotten older.

So first off, like many have said. Frequent masturbation can desensitize you causing ED. This is a known fact.

Another factor could be depression, stress, anxiety, insomnia, etc because one of the components of a successful persistent erection is emotional state.

Yet another cause can be nerve compression or nerve damage in the spine, which was part of the cause of my ED from a non-cancerous tumor in my lumbar spine. Literally a month after the surgeon removed it and I got my wife pregnant, WHAMO!

Sadly 4 years later a distracted teen T-boned my car in his daddy's truck and my back is messed up yet again, and even after surgery to decompress the nerve root and there is still intermittent issues with ED that are definitely nerve injury caused.

And then there is the medications. Like others have said, SSRIs can cause ED. And then there are medications that can have the opposite effect, and I'm not even referring to Sildenafil (Viagra). I'm talking about blood pressure medications, which I discovered as a side effect after being diagnosed with high blood pressure that Loprolol and Metoprolol can actually cause an erection.

I would also suggest starting on a multi-vitamin to improve your health overall, as this simple change could potentially eliminate your ED problem entirely by fixing simple vitamin deficiencies. I remember back in the day I started taking vitamin B12 for memory and a week later I realized my ball sack had nearly doubled in size despite the same amount of sexual activity.

No.

It might be what's called "delayed ejaculation" - consider looking into that. It's basically the opposite problem from a premature ejaculation problem.
