Loving the look of the Fine/Tax. Think it is awesome that the freedom that citizens once had to make their very own decisions like grown ups has been taken away for the "good" of those who think they are much more important and completely self centered.

(again I will say, this whole thing should have NOT included EVERY SINGLE, well, I was going to say American or citizen, but we all know the illegals are first in line to get this handout.......but nevertheless, any healthcare reform should have been ONLY for those who actually did have healthcare....give them the exchange and let them sign up.....and LEAVE THE REST OF US ALONE!!)

If you think paying the tax just so your family can be vulnerable to being wiped out by medical debt is a good idea, more power to you. It's irresponsible as hell to not provide health coverage for your kids when you can clearly afford to do it but it's your choice. The tax for not having insurance in 2014 is only $95. But you'll be paying 1%, much more than that. Just so you can not have insurance that will cost you $95 for a silver plan or $0 for a bronze.

If your family's income is $42k per year (as you said), that's a $420 tax you'll be paying, or about four months of premiums on an exchange after subsidy. And if you want a bronze plan, well you're paying $420 just so you can avoid the horror of paying $0 per month to actually be insured.

This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. And highly irresponsible. You shouldn't subject your family to the risk of being cast into poverty from medical debt. Your pride makes you weak, not strong.

If you're going to be paying four months of premiums in that tax you should probably just go ahead and get insurance. This isn't a complicated choice.
