help! (loading a gif)

code is OFF Smilies are ON This info is on my profile page. Does this mean I cannot load an image?? Nomatter how I try I cannot see the image I load onthe BB?? Any help is appreciated. :)

The settings you cited are applicable to the signature block. What it means, is that you have to use the HTML <img src="{URL}"> format instead of the IMG,/IMG tags you would use in the body of a post.

If you want the avatar to be at the left under your name, you need to go to the site member's login and edit the same HTML code into your location on that profile because the BB profile edit page doesn't update the location properly.

I have a picture loaded on my profile on the story side of this place, but no matter what I do, I cannot get it loaded on the BB side???

You'll note that none of the pictures from the site member's pages show up in the BB profiles. That's because the BB profile isn't set up to display a picture. (Although somewhen along the way, Laurel and Manu hope to change that by making the site profile the page displyed for both site and BB.)

You can use the picture from your profile as your avatar in your signature or location. (if you don't mind people 'yelling' at you for a full sized picture as an avatar. )

It's not a huge picture...a tiny cartoon. 135X158 pixels. BUT I still do not understand how to get it to show on the BB?? Am I being a pest?

No, you're not a pest.

I just checked your site profile, and the picture isn't showing there. I'm guessing that you just posted it there today? If that's the case, you need to wait until Laurel runs the nightly site maintenance and it shows up there.

Once the picture shows up there (where you can get the URL assigned to it by right clicking and looking at the properties), you can use the <img src=...> command in your signature or location.

For more information while you wait for it to show on your profile page, check out the "i want a cool icon" thread in this forum.

(Yes, I know it shows up when you login to the site, but it doesn't when you just use search members from the story index page. That's normal when a picture is first posted or changed.)

You need to use

to display http://www.webdeveloper.com/animations/bnifiles/neko1.gif In your signature line
