Will any Lady Lit Gurus want to be my mentor?

It's been a little over a week and I'm still totally lost. There is so much to see and do here and I can hardly figure out how to navigate around

I've amassed a number of questions and just need someone who can help me sort this out

PLEASE!

If you're in Tampa, that would be GREAT. (I am too)

NOW

Can you delete a post once you've made it?

If not, can you at least delete a pic you've attached to it?

Why does it seem that in some of the posts dated earlier, say in Sept, that there USED to be a pic there, but there isn't now?

What kind of routine do I need to stay updated on the threads, forums, etc that I regularly check?

What is vBCode section in this post?

Where can I set up my signature?

That's all for now. I have some more written now, but I haven't renewed my lifeguard certification and if you were to drown, I would feel responsible

~Yes. Edit post, delete what you need to and at least leave one punctuation mark. There will still be a post there, but no one will know what it said, unless another quoted you.

~Yes. Edit Post, check the box Beside Remove attatched picture.

Why does it seem that in some of the posts dated earlier, say in Sept, that there USED to be a pic there, but there isn't now?
~Because the poster who put the picture there took it down. You can see when they took it down by looking at the bottom of their post. *edited on such n such day by poster*

What kind of routine do I need to stay updated on the threads, forums, etc that I regularly check?
~ You can subscribe to a thread by clicking the [Subscribe to this thread] link at the bottom of the thread. When you do this you recieve an email when the thread has been updated, if you've opted for e-mail notification under User CP > Options. If you don't have this feature turned on you can go to your User CP and it will have a link to your thread under [Subscribed Threads]. If nothing new has been added to that thread, the [Subscribed Thread] section will be empty and tell you that there are, in fact, no updated threads. You can also subsribe to forums in the same manner, and with the same rules as above.

What is vBCode section in this post?
~ I *believe* that the Vb coding is used to simplify the different things you can use to enhance your post. Such as italics, bold, size of font, hyper linking... But I could be wrong. Instead of using html to do so, you just push the button and add your text into the pop up box.

Where can I set up my signature?
~You can edit your signature in the User CP> Edit Profile section. You can also turn your sig off in certain posts, and on in others, by clicking the box beside Show Signature.

You can PM me if I've confused you to pieces. :D

You explained fairly clearly for the most part.

Deleting posts: The delete post button is disabled for BB posts, although it works for PMs. Deleting a sent PM does NOT delte the copy sent to the recipient however. There is a cancel button if you chose to track the message on the message tracking page which will delete the recipient's copy. As you pointed out, a registered user can edit all content out out of a post which is effectively the same as deleting it.

vB code: vB code is a collection of psuedo-HTML formatting commands for use in the body of a BB post. There is a help link in the vB code section that explains what can be done and how to do it. The buttons are ********** shortcuts that make inserting vB code into your posts a bit easier but they are not the only way to do it.

More!

Thanks Harold!

More about signatures: How do people insert links, pics etc into their sigs

Can you kill a thread. Close it, Anyway to make it that no one else can reply. I started one and it hasn't gone anywhere and I just want to stop it
