Dont consume the soap dispenser contents cos it smells nice but I think it's been laced with something. That's really an F-16 rule, not a pilot rule. And it's really dependent on your leg vs torso length. If you're leggy you can get an inch or two more in if you're willing to risk your knee caps should you need to punch out, but if your torso long you just won't fit the seat safely.
And that dream crushing reality + hot headed attitude is how I wound up in the Army instead of flying
Back in the day my old man used to fly with couple of pretty big guys in F-15's/F-111's.
