I wanted to say hello and maybe get to talk to some of you. I've been lurking for a month or two now but haven't registered or posted until just now. I originally came to this site for the stories but the forum intrigued me more.

I'm a 22 year old girl and while I know about BDSM, it's in the Hollywood sense. I'm very interested and have been for some time, so I know it's not just following a trend or a phase like I thought it might be when I first started to read BDSM stories or encourage my partners to tie me or be more dominant than they usually would. While lurking I see some terms thrown around that aren't familiar to me and I'm a little confused about where I fall in the submissive-dominant scale. I'm a pretty extroverted and strong willed person in every day life but in the bedroom I love to have a dominant partner. But on the flipside I like to take control of the situation and tease, but only until I know I can release my partner and he will take back the power and (hopefully) punish me for teasing him mercilessly.

In the end I want to be the submissive one but I like to tease. I'm not sure what that makes me. I'm hoping I can figure it out while I'm here and maybe get some information and meet some nice people.

EDIT: I just want to clarify that while I'm very intrigued and very open, I don't have a lot of experience so I don't really know what I will like or dislike. I'm open to trying out a variety of things and getting a feel for where my preferences are.

Most of us are still trying to figure it all out. My SO is the first sub I've been with, so I'm learning on the fly as well (not always easy when she enjoys me taking charge ). There are a lot of helpful people around here and tons of stuff you can read. Just trust your instincts and only do what you're comfortable with. The things you want to experiment with may change according to your partners (depending on your level of trust and intimacy) so there will probably never be just one answer about what you enjoy or expect from sex.
