I just signed up here today, with a view to penning a few tales of my own... partly for titilation and partly as a way of me trying to work out why different people do such differnt things to me

but obviously I'm keen to read the cream of whats here too, but theres just so much!
so, i hope this isn't me being too lazy to read them all there really is a lot!
am particularly interested in things written by (and recommended by) women with a sadistic streak, whether thats from the top or the bottom, the physical or psycological isnt so important. (am i making sense? hope so)
and anything original and stunning of course.

TIA

I can't think of any specific stories off the top of my head, but this would be a good question for either the BDSM forum or the Author's Hangout.

You might check out catalina_francisco's stories; IIRC, the ones I've read have contained quite a lot of S&M.

I just look at the descriptions and scores of the stories. When I find a really good one, I look at the author's other pieces.

If you want to search for specific topics or stories, check out this thread.

yeah cheers I've worked my way around the tags a little bit, still a minefield though! cos well, I'm more interested in reading them written by a woman, I already know the blokes take on this after all...

but ta again

If I were looking to assess the competition for that particluar kink, I'd start withpage two of the BDSM top list and check the blurbs and author's handle for S&M stories fromt he female perspective.

I'd skip the first page because the top 25 scores or so in any given category aren't a true reflection of a story's quality -- they're generally stroke stories or don't have enough votes to counterbalance the "friends and fans" inflation of a new story.

Also, FWIW, a sadist would never be a "bottom" -- bottoms are masochists, not sadists.

Never say never, Harold! :D

I know bottoms who aren't masochists and those who are both sadists and masochists. Whether I top or bottom, I'm primarily a sadist, but I certainly enjoy some pain. I'm very much a masochist and bottom in most of my fantasies, even though I enjoy almost the complete opposite in real life the vast majority of the time.

The varying definitions of "top(ping)" and "bottom(ing)" and types of switches make for a ton of fluidity as well.

I meant from the perspective of the top or the bottom, a top could easily right from the opposing perspective, could they not?

A "switch" could write from either perspective, but I think a true Sadist would have trouble understanding the attraction of receiving pain and a true Masochist would have trouble understanding the attraction of giving pain (although probably not as much trouble as the reverse)

Erica, I do understand that the majority of S&M practioners do fall into some level of "switch," but a Sadist, by definition, is a Giver of pain and not a Receiver of pain.

nah fella i dont agree with you at all, I think you're confusing empaphisng with the reversed role with being able to do it as an intellectual exercise, of course you couldnt replicate the exact same responses and emotions and put them into words, but what is very very easy to do (if someones any good at writing) is to put themselves into someone else in that way, Writers do it all the time for gods sake!
and an easy place to start would be to simply imagine the response that would be hopes to be in heart and mind of the sub, and take it from there.

If you don't think thats possible to do, you don't read enough books.
