In my experience booze doesn't help. Three or four whiskies and I was able to drop into a chemical fog. It was not quality, restful sleep. I also tried wine, beer, port and warm Grand Marnier. My problem was, in part a reaction to medication. My body got used to the meds after 4 or 5 weeks. There were other factors: stress for example (resolved). I also cut out caffeine after noon.

It's why I started on Lit. Still insomnic but immune to it. Angelica has been, and still is my saviour.

I need proper flip chart to illustrate this, as picked this factoid up in psych-Ed class.
Sleep is important to health. Alcohol screws up your sleep; it may feel like a good way to get off to sleep, but it impacts the rhythm of sleep. Deep sleep is where the body (and mind) ‘repairs’ itself, REM sleep is where you dream (you knew that). You need deep sleep alcohol stops you entering deep sleep, so instead of your sleep cycle looking a series of decreasing steep waves, it’s very shallow; more REM states and less restful deep sleep.
Similar happens with excessive caffeine (caffeine has half-life of 5 hours), so ideally stopping caffeine intake before four/five o clock.
I’m a wealth of information. Some of it useful.

I’m not sure I agree from my own experience. My own sleep issues have been going on for 18 months and coincide with my “ not as fun as it sounds” sex surge. Not fun because I now have a high libido but don’t get laid. Boo hoo. So, I used to have no problem sleeping in but now wake typically between 4.00 and 06.00. It’s shit.... you have my sympathies AP. Masturbating helps me...... very, very silent masturbating.

Catching up with all I've missed.
Definitely need to think as/before I post (but not over think, the amount of time I haven't replied as I didn't think the post would come across as i tended) . I do try to curb my langauge and understand that tone/sarcasm don't really translate well to text.
Will happily stand up to and call out asshattery and fuckwittery in support of folks on here.
Super power for me would be control of the mystic arts a la Dr Strange. So much potential for good/evil/practical jokes

Ahhh... I struggle with oral and it’s neither prudish, religious or germs based... I have issues with fearing for my breathing.... also it takes me back to a dark place...
