Indeed...only Philistines put sugar in tea!

What’s your take on soya milk in tea? I’m still plant based... it’s not too bad actually... oat milk doesn’t work, but the soya seems ok...

Soy milk is ok in tea though, as I often drink Darjeeling, I tend to drink that without milk.

Almond milk: OK in coffee

Not tried oat milk

Some say this is faddy - I disagree. Having suffered a (shall we say) gastric weirdness I seem to have developed gluten intolerance (yes, I would kill for a fresh-baked crust 2" thick with butter & Marmite) and other intolerances. That people prefer to rely less on animal products is understandable & commendable.

Oh dear, apologies for being preachy....I'll get on with the tea

I have my coffee black... and now I want marmite on toast... yum... but I have just had breakfast and it is a little too early for a hobbit like second breakfast...

MARMITE!!! Forget the bread product. Just have it on a teaspoon.

Short of inspiring a full political twist to the thread: anyone else noticed that prices are creeping up? I may be getting old(er) and noticing little things, but feels like prices are creeping northward. Not sure if noticing it in relation to current times or just that i’m Being more mindful of what stuff costs.

From a spoon?! Even I don’t do that

Not been particularly observant on costs...

Allia! I’m shocked! I thought you’d be down with some spoon action. I just found out there’s a 80’s toy auction online this coming week ... I doubt i’ll Afford the Castle Greyskull, might have a look what there is. More pointless spending on stuff I don’t need.

I’m still surrounded by so much hoard, that auction makes my head hurt...

You hoard stuff? Or have a hoard of the Hoard?

My other half hoards stuff... I used to but the house can’t cope with two hoarders...

It’s hard... it’s partly that he has a ‘it can be used for something’ mentality. The amount of old, worn clothes he keeps because they can be used for gardening is quite remarkable given he does no fucking gardening... but the last few years it’s really gone out of control, partly because we ended up with a lot of his mums stuff when she moved into care and it’s sacrilege to suggest that I shouldn’t have to live in the shadow of his mum... so we have old lamps with tattered and damaged lampshades but that she handmade so I’m not allowed to suggest they go... her old slippers that don’t currently fit her swollen feet but you know... might again (and why they can’t live with her, I don’t fucking know...), boxes and boxes of photos and thimbles and general shit she doesn’t have space for... which incidentally we also do not have room for... the list goes on and on...

I’ve got worryingly close on occasion, when he has nagged about me being in a hotel midweek, to point out why I might prefer a crisp, clear hotel room to sitting amongst MiL’s hoard... but I fear it is the argument we might not come back from so I keep quiet and try to gently push the idea that keeping a few things that can be loved, and looked after and put on display might be more meaningful than the current mess...

Sorry... stupid, selfish rant...

Out and about. Will post response in a little bit.

No need - am also out and about, doing MiLs weekly shop and just being my usual attention seeking whingebag...

Just the description of the hoard is making me anxious, so I don't think you are being too whingy. But I am on the opposite end of the spectrum. Probably reactionary to my father's hoarding and reinforced by moving eight times in the past 25 years.

Thanks lovelies - I’d like to throw it all out and live in a clean minimalist space... but not likely to happen any time soon...

On the positive side - waiting for MiL’s Saturday night fish n chips and have actually managed to get a Greggs vegan sausage roll - kiss my fat arse Piers Morgan. I’ll feed back later (please don’t be shit... please don’t be shit... don’t let Piers be right...)

Update - actually quite tasty so Piers can carry on kissing my arse... I wouldn’t have one too often though... probably not the healthiest Saturday night dinner...

each time I go into Gregg’s these days, the vegan ones are sold out! Must be quite tasty. I’ll have one this week.

Fully on the anti hoarding bandwagon.. Not so sure of the vegan roll from Greggs, but that's more because it's from Greggs..

Being veggie I am rarely in there, but no - I don’t think so... Greggs is Greggs...

Gotta be impressed with their marketing peeps though - big headlines with very little money spent:

Step one - Go viral at a food show as Gregory and Gregory so posh peeps rave about your food:
https://www.prexamples.com/2018/05/...gregory-and-gregory-at-gourmet-food-festival/

Step two - Get in everyone’s social media selfies by turning your sign around so the Fenwicks Christmas display features a Greggs - I particularly love the cheekiness of this one:

Step three - Launch vegan sausage with virtually no advertising but make sure someone tweets massive knob-head Piers Morgan who makes it go viral for you and leads to folk oddly buying them just so they could post pics of themselves chucking it in the bin:

With sales up 10% in the first seven weeks of this year, when so many retailers seem to be struggling, somebody has earnt their bonus...

You’ve got to hand it to them, they have done well in difficult times.

How’s the day gone, people??

I’m rewatching Walking Dead ... it is either this or I restart watching more Trek!

Wales beat England, great day.
Can't say anything about Walking Dead
Never got into Trek nor Dr.Who
Does anyone remember 'Journey into Space'? or the death of Grace Archer?

I cut my Zombie teeth with George Romero's "Night of the Living Dead".

I actually watched the first Star Trek series when it was first aired on TV. I have watched every Star Trek adventure since. However the newest one is on CBS All Access and you have to pay to watch it...so that pissed me off and I have not seen the newest series.

I started watching Dr. Who when Tom Baker was the doctor...loved it. The next doctor/actor I did not like so I just stop watching.

I never heard any British radio shows but we did have "The Shadow" I listened to regularly.
