When I had to admit I was balding and the ponytail and combover wasn't working. I decided to give myself a crewcut. I was mad at my hair and thought "fuck you hair if you won't cooperate with me you can just go away". I have to admit it was all about me and have found a happy medium since.

Katy Perry broke up with her boyfriend and she cut her short and announced it was about female empowerment. Really your haircut is not important and makes no politically important statement.

Most of us just see a hair cut and think "Well there's a hair cut".

Yes, I do but not too often anymore. My hair grows slow. My hair is light and thin. I get a haircut to prove it needed cut.

When I was a kid my mommy cut my hair, my little brother's, and my dad.
In high school I went to the cheap non union barber shop.

While still mostly a kid I married and while watching my wife cut our little son's hair with a cheap set of hair clippers and scissers I decided to save the $5 I was paying the barber. My wife has cut my hair most of my adult life, to prove it needed cut!

While friends pay upwards of $35 to $50 plus tip for a cheap trim job haircut I use my $35 to $50 for old car parts, beer, and food.

I remember friends who got a barbershop haircut every week just because that's how others did it. I never had anything to prove.

Yeah, I'm pretty lucky as far as the hair goes. It has stayed in place and stayed black.

;)

That's just genetics, I'm a superior blend of human. :D

Sinead O'Connor once got so fed up with the studio going back and forth about how she should style her hair that she shaved her head. That was an important statement, if not a political one.

Well I didn't get my hair cut to prove anything, but I did color it hot pink in my mid 30s just because I had never done anything that crazy. All I proved is that my hair is best left to its natural color.
