Have the Democrats figured out why they almost lost yet?

A fairly popular incumbant President, a slowly improving economy, a media completely in the tank helping to slander their opponents, high negatives for the Republicans, a huge lead going into the election season, and they barely manage to scrape out a narrow Presidential victory in the 2012 election. They couldn't even win back the House. They damn near blew a sure thing.

Time for some soul searching?

They don't care. They will just find some more dead people to vote in the next election.

As I've said before:

Look, fellow Dems, libruls, and non-Pubs and anti-Pubs of all parties, natures, tendencies, and orientations, take heed and caution: Just about everything said so far in this thread about the Pubs' weakness and blindness and refusal to learn from their mistakes is entirely true. But. But.

But they can still win. Don't ever forget that. The Pubs still hold the House and a majority, I believe, of state legislatures and governorships. They have very thoroughly entrenched every position they hold with systematic gerrymandering. They still have one massive base they can turn out, and grassroots organizations, and astroturf organizations, and captive media outlets, and institutional connections, and propaganda-mill think-tanks, and boardrooms of corporate execs on their side, and a metric shitload of donor-cash to draw on. They don't have to learn anything from their mistakes. They can still win.

"Almost lost" means "won".

Despite the most pathetic, desperate attempts by the opposition to neuter his administration, and inflict as much hardship on the citizenry as possible.

He won, and he won fairly easily, all things considered. All projections were for a solid popular win, and a clear electoral win. He accomplished both. His party performed better than expected in the Senate, and only gerrymandering prevented them from making big gains in the House.

This thread is shit, which is par for the course from the OP.

Anyone checked the price of gold lately? Its around 1250 an ounce, down from 1900 a short while ago. I read that 700 is prolly where its headed.

College tuition and medical care costs are scooting upwards, 5%-10% each year. People owe more for student loans than they owe for credit cards.

Obama keeps the price of common stocks UP with quantitative easing. Translated into English, what he does is buy 85 billion worth of Wall Street stocks every month, so the VIPs don't lose their asses from falling stock prices.

Been paying attention to the George Zimmerman trial? Did you notice how the government seems to know everything about the guy? Very, very soon if a nigga, or faggot, or muslim, or gal has a problem with you the government will drag you in and play THIS IS YOUR LIFE, ASSHOLE. They'll ruin you with what they know about you.

126 electoral votes and a four percent margin counts almost losing to you?

Obama keeps the price of common stocks UP with quantitative easing.

The president doesn't control the Fed.

The president doesn't control the Fed.

UH, yes he does. The Fed doesn't appoint itself, and terms expire.

After I become President I'm moving Washington to the Arctic.

The fact that the Fed chair is appointed doesn't mean they're controlled by the president. The power of the Fed is derived from congress, not the executive branch. And oversight is also congressional.

The president also cannot fire the Fed chair.

The Democrats almost lost because the voters blame the president for a bad economy, and because the Republicans retain the power to prevent, or at least slow, an economic recovery.

When Rush Limbaugh said of the President, "I hope he fails," he meant "I hope the economy fails," and the GOP agreed with him. As long as a Democrat, especially a black one, is in the White House the Republicans want Americans to lose jobs and houses.

In states controlled by the GOP Republican policy consists of cutting taxes for the well off and benefits for everyone else. That is their plan for the county if they come to dominate the county.

It's amazing how many people the GOP tricks into voting against their own self-interest. Just look at the flat tax proposals - they claim it will be revenue-neutral when there's one tax rate that's 10%-20% lower than the marginal rate paid by the rich. Okay so the wealthy are getting a huge tax cut, to make this revenue-neutral who do Republican voters think is going to pay more to balance it out?

Republican voters will pay more. A lot more.

You don't know much about power.

I'm beginning to think renard's threads are some sort of art project.

They might be, but he could just be obvious troll. That's not exactly a rare breed though I haven't seen many as big as him. Well maybe BB does he still start threads?

I mean, by the law of averages he would probably have one perspective on things that weren't this precisely opposite-day absurd. No, I'm telling you, a lot of thought and careful effort has gone into being this consistently wrong.

Actually Democrats are still trying to find out how they won the last time, most including Obama were surprised right out of their shorts.

I'm so confused as to what the roll eyes emoticon is supposed to mean. Nobody was surprised at all at Obama's victory. Romney was a joke in 2011 and one that was entertained for traditions sake not for good reason.

Well, in that case "the government" would be the Seminole County State Attorney's Office, and I don't think they have a pipeline to the NSA.

It is nice to know that if Obama had a son, he would be just like Martin....

Oh tehh noes! Black men have black children! Black families are sick and tired of shooting black children in the streets being acceptable in this country.
